Please oh please of please!!!!
I was lucky enough to see Swervedriver play in Perth, Western Australia four times in the nineties.
To see them play again would be bliss!! |

Had a momentary panic when I thought it was clashing with the Spiritualised gig I've already got tickets for, but then realised that's 16th Oct.

you guys,

sometime between 2 and 3 am, outside the Marathon at Chalk Farm... I am walking inside... And who is standing outside, saying my name? Who indeed, I thought, as I stared at this total stranger, who clearly knew who I was. It was Graham Bonner. I haven't seen him since, I reckon, 1993! If he didn't call my name, I would never have recognized him! He's been travelling since he left the band... spiritual quest, all 4 corners of the world, that sort of thing...and he'd JUST got back. Is that crazy, or what?
He's looking good and healthy of body and mind.
anyway, I thought this was an interesting/strange/amusing tale to share!
I was just saying in another post... I always wondered what happened to him... holy cow! He's been traveling for all these years?

Posted - 05/01/2008 : 03:50:17 AM Nice one Eugene! A pint will be very much on the cards by then...and the rest. ha ha. Dave Calder - the drummer is still with us but we have a new guitarist and bassist. Its been coming together nicely. Jez just got back from Cochella yeasterday so I've been hassleing him via e mail to tell me what their set was and how it all went. I'll report back as soon as I can..... |

Posted - 04/30/2008 : 01:58:33 AM Having a major Swervedriver moment here...I'm so glad that Swervedriver is touring again. After seeing and hearing them live on all their US tours back in the 90s. I even listend to the song I wrote inspired by their music last night! #13;#10;#13;#10;If I wanted to see them, I would go to Australia since I now live in Thailand. These are happy days for Swervdriver fans!#13;#10;#13;#10;Frankie in Chiang-Rai, Thailand |

Posted - 04/29/2008 : 12:28:42 PM Hey Ian...see you in Carrboro (prolly) and DC definitely. Have to hoist a pint for old times' sake! I'd bring other accoutrements as well, for post gig inhalation, but I'm paranoid about the highway Nazis around these parts. Sorry to hear the rest of the lads had packed it in, it was great meeting them.
Cheers, Eugene |

Posted - 04/29/2008 : 07:41:40 AM Greetings!! Not long to go now!! Weeeeee! If anyone is about we're playing Camden Barfly in London with Longwave on Saturday May 10th if you'd like a sneek preview. Jez should be about too. Theres been a few changes in the Terra camp. I'm the only origional one left now (sniff) but the new guys have pulled it together great. The rest got hacked off with the constant battle that is trying to make any money out of the music industry. Apparently something like 65% of 12 - 16 year olds now think that music is free I read recently?!?! Jesus wept. Anyway. 'Mon the Driver!! |

Posted - 04/12/2008 : 12:16:14 AM Roarvis you're a fantastic individual, thanks for the update. Swervies, Spiritualized and Verve in one festival. For me that is magic man; sheer, brilliant magic. Not to mention Prince, although I'm not a huge fan of the songs themselves, is an incredible performer that I will love to finally see. And there's a bunch of great DJs and other up and coming bands so it should be a blast. Anyone else from here going?
Cheers,

I see them listed on the Coachella site for Sunday. If they had managed to get Swervedriver, the Verve and Prince to play the same night, I might have considered going for the sheer madness of it. Although Spiritualized and SWD the same night should be pretty cool. |

Posted - 04/11/2008 : 5:34:41 PM Okay, so when I look at the Coachella Line-Up poster it says that Swervedriver is on there. When I look at the line-up in the line-up link on the website they are not yet listed under any dates. There seems to be no info of this on the Swervedriver or Toshack sites. So I gotta know what's up. Are Swervies playing Coachella? Cos it would go from being brilliant to absolutely out of this fucking world!
Someone help ease my spirit.

Posted - 04/04/2008 : 10:48:38 AM Totally stoked to see Los Swervies again after all these years!! Going to stop at the Fillmore box office Sunday to buy my ticket -- avoiding the RapeMaster fee that would increase cost by over 33%.
Tempted to travel from SF bay area to LA for the Saturday show. Anybody here have hints/advice/opinions about the "Music Box at the Henry Fonda Theatre" in Hollywood, where they are slated to play on May 31?

my fear is that with no current label support the swervies might not have all the needed resources to tour as extensively as desired. maybe some new financial backers / guardian angels will appear? |

Posted - 02/15/2008 : 12:53:40 AM Same here... I guess a spring tour is looking a little unlikely given that no venues that we know of are booked. My g/f has agreed to come to the first night of the tour, wherever that is. I'm hoping Amsterdam/LA/Australia... but I suspect more like London or Oxford...
