It's happening!

"In 2013, Swervedriver performed their debut album, Raise, in its entirety in Australia and the UK and then went on to record the band's highly acclaimed fifth album, I Wasn't Born To Lose You, released in March 2015. This September, Adam Franklin, Jimmy Hartridge, Mikey Jones and Mick Quinn will be reprising the performance of Raise shows - for the first time in the USA - but with one large difference: they will also be performing their much loved second album, Mezcal Head, from front-to-back. The show will comprise of two sets. A new (sixth) album has been penciled in for a 2018 release - stay tuned for more details."

Indeed. Nice to meet ya KM!

I took video of the encores, sound is decent. Video... too much Guinness!

Atlanta encores: Juggernaut Rides & Planes Over the Skyline for Grant Hart. A really fun show... buy tickets for everyone you know if your town is coming up.

Someone posted video of last nights encore on the swd Facebook page in the comments of the husker du post. Haven't been able to watch it yet so no idea of quality.
markusdarkus Posted - 09/15/2017 : 07:21:11 AM
Was at the Carrboro concert at Cat's Cradle last night (Sept. 14), and in spite of a shamefully small turnout (only about 200 people showed up), the Swervies absolutely crushed it.

As others have posted about this tour, Mikey is just a devastating force on the drums: nothing fancy, just always in the pocket and pushing the songs forward with crushing power. Adam and Jimmy were great at laying down layers of guitar textures and squalling fills and leads, and Mick was solid on his fat-sounding Thunderbird bass. But,as always with SWD, it is the songs that make the difference.

Encore: Husker Du's "Green Eyes" as a tribute to the recently departed Grant Hart. In fact, the Swervie's dedicated the entire set to Grant.

"Below the Apes / Above the Angels" - 22 hours and counting.

Patiently waiting at Union Transfer…

Agree: Mikey is a great fit for the band

Stay safe down there scihiflyer!

Getting pumped now, just saw on YouTube that they are doing the "never learn" play out on never lose that feeling. Can't wait to bathe my ears in that!
scihiflyer Posted - 09/08/2017 : 3:23:00 PM
I'm in Miami and driving up to the Orlando show next week. Just pray that there still is going to be one.
drmcd Posted - 09/08/2017 : 11:37:46 AM
I was there - encore no joke. I was halfway expecting some energy lag towards the end, considering the two full sets - but they were on the ball all night.

Mikey Jones is a perfect fit for the band.

I only got "Duress" due to my inebriation and position in the room: https://youtu.be/WpQs2Ta1Jbc

Adam laughed at Jimmy for checking the setlist during the Raise portion, but then both of them kept peeking at it during the Mezcal Head set.

Indeed man. I'm hoping the guys take it super careful between Washington and NC! At least there is an extra day built in there.

Hoping that Hurricane Irma skips all of the east coast and veers off into the Atlantic so lives, and this tour, aren't disrupted in any way.

The Birds is the perfect encore. So happy they are doing this tour. I'll be in Boston and NY.

Wondering if they play never learn when never loose that feeling ends...
jacethecrowl Posted - 07/20/2017 : 7:32:33 PM
I'd be ecstatic if they'd end the shows with a couple NEW songs -- or start with 'em!
KM Atlanta Posted - 07/18/2017 : 08:22:10 AM
Has it hit everyone that this means Satansville and Harry & Maggie back-to-back? Note to self: Be nowhere near a beer or bathroom line when this goes down...

Yep - fun's fun but this is not funny any more. Announce Europe shows.

Someone please put a camera up at one of the shows and record it end to end (if that's ok w Swerves)
Pales to being there, but at least I'd get an idea of 2 of my favorite albums beginning to end & back to back live.

Still hoping for this show in the EU
mike1174 Posted - 06/30/2017 : 5:32:11 PM
I'm really hoping this verse is the last verse I hear on the tour...

Holding out so high
Ah-hah
Holding out so high

I don't wanna go, I'm happy here"

I wonder if they will actually play an encore after treating us to ALL. THOSE. SONGS? I'd be surprised. I'll be going gaga over it all at the Casbah either way.
mike1174 Posted - 06/27/2017 : 11:26:11 AM
Added to the B-side encore list:

#3 Scrawl & Scream

#4 Mars

I don't want to sound greedy, but being as Year of the Girl is one of my favorite songs, I will lose my mind if they play this song.

This is a massive move. Was expecting a Mezcal tour following their previous Raise tour, but Raise+Mezcal? Outstanding!
mpavlic08 Posted - 06/12/2017 : 07:54:33 AM
I have my tickets to the Union Transfer show. I'm debating about going the night before to the Brooklyn show, but I need to find someone to go with me. I'm beyond excited about this. I think I've heard all of the songs off of Raise and Mezcal live before, but definitely not in order and back to back. Plus, Sandblasted is one of my favorites along with Duress. Since they have been out of the set list recently, it will be nice to hear them again.

EDIT: Also, just because it reminded me mentioned Union Transfer in Philly, Brian Jonestown Massacre is playing there the week before Swervedriver if anyone is interested,
rpriii Posted - 06/09/2017 : 11:05:34 AM
I got my tickets for the ATLANTA show! I'm ready to RAVE DOWN!
jamesg Posted - 06/09/2017 : 07:09:29 AM
Tickets on sale now peeps! See ya'll in NC and ATL.
mike1174 Posted - 06/08/2017 : 10:17:23 AM
That's a lotta swerve-therapy!

After looking at the tour, gonna try for 50%. I like that number, it reminds me of the expression "happy medium" which I think is a good approach to anything!

I'm thinking if encore includes autodidact & english subtitles (wish it was IWBTLY in its entirety) these shows are already a can't miss but damn, that's a lotta ...[fill in the blank]
abx400 Posted - 06/07/2017 : 9:06:30 PM
(insert all curses here) I'll be out of the states in September. Wonder if they might bring this to EU, hope so.
earthdog70 Posted - 06/07/2017 : 3:24:38 PM
I will be at the Boston show for sure!
scihiflyer Posted - 06/06/2017 : 09:07:23 AM
Can't believe they are coming to Florida. Now instead of flying to NYC or LA just gotta drive up to Orlando. So psyched, gonna get my tix as soon as they go on sale.
hawks_hounds Posted - 06/06/2017 : 05:45:51 AM
can i request laze it up as a encore?
hawks_hounds Posted - 06/05/2017 : 2:57:48 PM
will be going to either carborro or atlanta.

drag comet control along as a opener....if only for 4-5 songs.

chris Posted - 06/05/2017 : 2:27:10 PM
They had better do this in London or I'm going to go nuts.
jamesg Posted - 06/05/2017 : 1:58:15 PM
Awesome! Now just need to win the lottery so I can quit work and follow the whole tour!
bradsears Posted - 06/05/2017 : 12:52:19 PM
I just added ticket links to the home page and the news page.
Cilice Posted - 06/05/2017 : 12:23:11 PM
Got the reply on Twitter. Both albums at each show.
Cilice Posted - 06/05/2017 : 12:18:38 PM
Anyone know the details? Are they performing either or on each date, a mix of tracks from both, etc?
