I know this isn't the "right" thread for this but..

I was in Sydney between january and july this year and I saw Magnet(if you're talking about the norwegian guys)playing on Hopetoun in Surrey Hills, it was absolutely brilliant...And the band before was quite good, Sea Life park

I know there has been a lot of discussion in the past about Wilco. Some like 'em - some - not so much. I happened to get the chance to borrow "Billy Bragg & Wilco - Mermaid Avenue Vol. II" from a friend.
I must say - I'm only half way through it but, I love it!
Have you heard this one Eugene?

Summercamp - yeah rocketgibraltar, this was another of my $1.25 purchases from the pawn shop. I liked the cover and judged it by that, not knowing the band at all. Pretty stoked actually. Still digging Failure also - It might go down as the best $5 I've ever spent.

Interloperson, I got your mail last night and listened to all of cd1 and part of cd2. So far the Skeleton Key track has me as todays fave, but with more listens that will no doubt change. That track has a great energy about it.

Watch the fat man swing! (this could be my theme song after my indulgent vacation)

And the penny finally dropped with Eugene's Sig when the Angeline, Sit On My Copy Machine arced up. I had a good laugh. Cheers!

Creedence Clearwater - Feelin Blue.

Classic rock Interloper is on the loose. The guitar tones on this stuff rules. That hollobody through a genuine old Fender with that Fender tremolo is one of my favorite guitar sounds ever.

Didn't he use a Rickenbacher? Always thought they used Custom amps (don't know if those are made anymore). He used to get some gnarly feedback. Ever heard the song Sinister Purpose from the album Green River? Prime example.

Not sure. A band mate hipped me to them. I love them because they sound like the Jesus Lizard with Mark Mothersbaugh singing so I can't resist. They may be from NY. I can't remember. I know they have a website somewhere though.

I liked that Ex Models track also this morning.

Im compiling a burn for some mates and trying to include stuff from the W.A.B. crew, but its so hard to choose enough for just one. Listening to tHe Drop - Bleach 27, wondering if its going to elbow Bird 3 out of a place....

Lupine Howl - Carnival, is in pole position today.

There exists a "Sea Life park" on the island of Oahu, Hawaii that is like a marine biology school pluys a massive show with trained seals, dolphins, killer whales, penguins, huge aquariums and the like. Great place.

Today its been too hard to make a singular choice between songs from "Lovelines" from Lush's Split album or "More Like Space" from SeeFeel's Polyfusia's album. But why pick favorites anyways.

Derek, the reason i started this thread is because it allows me to see whats floating ppls boats out there. It gives me a good starting point to a new act/sound and thats just great. Sharing the music multiplies the pleasure, for me. I have found so much good gear via this thread. For example im listening to Jakob after tuomas's recomendation. This guy put me onto The Life And Times via his thread about their song High Scores. Its so brilliant!

So today I can vouch for tuomas,

Favourite of the day,
Jakob - Can We Come In

I've been digging this Danish band EPO-555. Someone on the excellent listserv posted their website last week with some links to mp3s... If you like MBV, lush etc. you're gonna love this band. http://www.epo-555.dk/card/ There's a link to their site with a few mp3s from there.

Glad your back, you might want to avoid the "Debate One" and "Universal Meanderings" threads though. We've been getting a little political as well. Everything else is gravy.
