Got this the other day cause I had some money to burn:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Secret-Garden-Vol-1-Nu-Gaze-Shoegaze/dp/B0012GJD40/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1210158701&sr=8-1

I have to say I wasn't expecting too much from it but there's some really good stuff on there and its worth picking up if you're into that sort of thing. A lot of it is pretty derivative but I got a kick out of it. I should probably make more of an effort to check some of these bands out.

"Hearts on Fire" - Rumskib, is my pick of them at the moment. Very MBV.

Snail - its a track from Second Coming by The Stone Roses. Have you heard 2nd Coming before? Its great, but different from their classic debut. The first track opens with a a long tropical rainstorm/echoy/riff laden intro before it gets a bit tribal with the beat and finally the lyrics kick in 5 or so minutes later. Its full of hooks as per their other stuff.

Today:

Boom Boom, I just saw Big Business last night@!!!! WOAH, the bassist, Jared, is LOUD!!! and was in Karp!!! Great set, drummer is from Murder City Devils I think. Bad Ass!!!

This was the line up @ this dive bar called The Scene in Glendale:
Crystal Antlers, Triclops, Qui (David Yow's band), 400 blows, Big Business

For only $8 for all these great bands, it blew my mind!!!

this via J-mo also!
Homeslice! I picked up a copy of "Long Player"/"Junior Rock" from Rockaway Records in Oz. Its a double CD set. Also, grabbed Helo Halo. You might want to try there. Shipping shouldn't be bad for ya.
Onya!

Hello Halo has a few gems on it Jeronimo. Long Player is in my all time favourites. Junior Rock is amazing as I have an EP called Junior, but until this track was put up on their myspace page Id not heard of it. I can't believe Ive not heard this LP! I can't wait to hear it. Have you got it in your hands yet J-mo or is it still in transit?

I have had a look at that link and cant find the double cd anywhere, nor anywhere else. Jeronimo - you may have the last copy.

Local H are good, especially Bound For The Floor - I love that track so much. Reminds me of that great Idlewild Track - Roseability. Both great to yell along to.

Gene THE SAAB! I know. I had 2 gigs to see on Friday night but my housemate had his 38th party so it was cheesy disco and the like for my ears. Fun though. Maybe Im not meant to see them play. Missed them in Melbourne recently too. And Adam and Broken Social Scene! Im not having a very good run with live music lately.

Listening to audiobooks a lot lately and right now Jaguars radio station. Really mellow stuff so far.

Baby be My Friend-FREE. Here is a great live version of this one. Originally released on the album, Highway. Found it on a dedication page to Paul Kossoff.
I'd love to know where they found it. RIP, Koss. One of my fav British blues players. That's Paul Rodgers giving the intro. Enjoy. http://www.freewebs.com/paulkossoff/index.htm

Saw Pink Floyd live in Pompei last night and not being that well versed in things Floyd was blown-a-way! So todays song...the one that goes -'Set the controls to the heart of the sun' -Pink Floyd.

Interesting font arrangement on the film plays with the words displaying on the screen revealing the words in 'random' order - it read "heart controls sun set". Sweet mental image.
