"Does The Kiss Fit" - J Mascis + The FOG, from "More Light"

I remember buying this when it came out for another track and the Kevin Shields association, but this is the only one that would make a Weekend At Burnie's (if I was so equipped). The drums rule on this song, too!

ummm... I'm pushin this CD big time to any of you that don't have it! Damn it's incredible!
I've been waiting so long for this import I ordered for my new WAB comp - that I have really changed my original track list. Anyway "Lay Low" has made the new cut...

Yup, Animals is without a doubt my favorite too. Top 5 favorite Floyd albums:
1. Animals
2. WYWH
3. Meddle
4. DSoM
5. Relics

No shame in Judas Priest. I think Livin After Midnight is one of the few songs I think I still remember how to play on guitar!

1) Live at Pompeii
2) Wish You Were Here
3) Animals
4) Meddle
5) A great early singles collection called "The Dark Side of the Moo" (pre-Atom Heart Mother)

Melwas, I once wrote down the lyrics of Romeo & Juliet by Dire Straits and gave them to a girl i had the hots for.....sad sad stuff. She loved it though, mmind you it was 1987. One of the first songs i ever learnt all the words to also.

Lately i am loving Meonkopis WAB3.1
The tracks by Surfjan Stevens and Jens Whatshisname are right up there for me these last 2 weeks while on holiday and now breaking up with a girl. Pinback is also getting a thrashing! When i get home im going to go back and revisit Moen's early comps which i thought were a bit slow back then, but i seem to be heading to a mellow period. I hope you get to read this Moen, from sunny Yellowstone bro!

Yo Stranger - I love the Feelies. One of my buddies from high-school ended up touring with them as their sound guy for a long time... he said he used to jam with them a lot and claims he helped write some of the tunes on their Time for a Witness disk. - I didn't see any credit on the sleeve though...

Today...
Garageland - "Nude Star"
off Boomers vol. 3 WAB

hey Boomer - refresh my memory dude - was Pavement the only band on that comp list that got knocked out of whack?
My 4 standouts form that disk (besides the MMH, Sunny Day..., Urge Overkill, Pavement (although I didn't have the live version which is sweet), MBV, and Dredge - all of which I had - BUT loved hearing on your mix) were:
Super Furry Animals - I think I mentioned having an earlier disk by them... but, nothing as good as "Out of Control"!
Rogue Wave - great classic sound! need more!!
Garageland - tell me more about these guys please
Swell - a few of you are Swell heads - I need to check them out!

Rocket - I think the Pavement track got inserted as track 8 instead of track 3, so track 3 on your disc is really what I said track 4 should be, track 4 is really what I said track 5 would be, etc, until track 8, which is the Pavement track. Track 9 should be right. I'll have to go back into the WAB forums to find out for sure if that's not right.

Rogue Wave is a Sub•Pop band.
I agree regarding the SFA track - most of their stuff doesn't click for me, but that song was a great way to start off the WAB.
Don't know too much about Garageland - their bio is here: http://www.garageland.com/biography.asp

Hey stranger - how's Miami holding up since I left? We thought we took the flag with us when we left! But I still bleed orange and green and yell at the inneffectual decisions of the 'fins staff. We lived in Kendall for a few years, then moved up here to the ATL. Moved out the older relatives when the nursing home staffs refused to learn english...

Hello Boomer, yah miami can be quite a drag. Its not the fact that people from all over the world move here that bothers me. Its that when they do, they start acting like jerk offs. I went to UMiami and just never left. Well Im ready to. I just dont know where to go.

Went to subpop and downloaded some Rogue Wave. Pretty good stuff. This favorite song thread has introduced me to quite a few bands I've never heard of/listened to before. Thanks all.

Hey stranger - (you might already be on board) - but, if you love the Mary Chain - you might want to check out some early Starflyer 59 - very similar vocally - but, not as much screeching distortion. I recently got my hands on an album called "Gold" - and I was thinking it was very Jesus and Mary Chain influenced...

Today...
Guided By Voices - "everyone thinks I'm a raincloud"

Hey Interloper - or any GBV fans - did you happen to catch GBV on Conan O'Brian last Friday? I missed the first 15 seconds or so - but, I flipped onto the channel and I was like - "Holy CRAP - that''s GBV" They played "everyone thinks..." - and it was excellent! I always imagined the singer played guitar though - guess I was wrong - or... at least he didn't play on Friday. I also don't know if the show was a re-run...

goodmorning everyone. Hey rocket, I have some starflyer 59. A couple songs I like. Right now I'm litening to some Fu Manchu I just got. Pretty heavy and I like the guitar, kinda reminds me of early Monster Magnet. I cant seem to find jailbreak though and am looking foeward to hearing it, always been a Thin Lizzy fan, dont think many people in US ever gave them much of a listen except for 1 song, "Boys are back in town" that made some heavy radio play in 70's i think, i was a kid in my dads car when I think about hearing that song. think I might actaully have to work today, talk later.

I have a newer Starflyer 59 called "Old" - and it isn't anything like Jesus and Mary Chain - much more their own developed sound (I actually like it better than my older one).
But, Gold (the older one) is really of the JaMC flavor...

Fu Manchu rules. Get "King Of The Road", and give it up for "Boogie Van" & "King Of The Road"...

"King of the road says you move too slow! King of the road says you move too slow! King of the road says you move too slow!"

Thin Lizzy's "Johnny the Fox" rules as well. Check the funky-ass "Johnny The Fox Meets Jimmy The Weed". Also check "Bad Reputation", for the title track. Also "Live and Dangerous" in its entirety.

Song du jour: "Fooled Around & Fell In Love" - Elvin Bishop

I knew you'd come back around. I've still got everyone's Wab 4 ready to go, with a few extra's for some of you. I've been busy as hell trying to open the Old Faithful Lodge (I'm a Front Desk Manager) and getting situated. I forgot how gorgous this place is. Watch a grizzly play for a while the other day and saw massive (180 lbs.) wolf today. I'll be in and out pretty infrequently now, but I'll try to pop in now and again.

My song for today was ...
Werewolves of London - Magnolia Electric Co.
(was actually listening to it just before I saw the beast)

The Method - Wormtree

Unfortunately, they were a local band and this particular song never saw the light of day (but yours truly recorded it), which of course makes it all meaningless to all of you, but what the hell, it's what's kicking my ass today. As a reference, Nate went on to join GBV years later.

That's cool Moen! sounds like you're livin the good life.
as a side note - I saw this show on Animal Planet - (my sons favorite channel) and they had a virtual fight between a cougar and a wolf. The wolf ended up losing - it could have possibly won because they have better endurance - but, when the cougar started backing off the wolf went after it again because they apparently don't back down from a fight - then the cougar got him with a couple swift swats with his enormous claws - and gave him a death bite on his neck when he was down. But, the cougar didn't get to eat him because the rest of the pack started comin....

Today...
Boo Radleys
I'm listening to a comp of their old stuff somebody made for me - it all kicks ass!

Delusions of Adequacy just did a review for the ep Metric by Spanish for 100. My interest was piqued after they were refered to as a band w/ dueling guitars (I always like to hear that in a review). Here is a link and if you go to the website, they have all the ep for free download, very nice of them.
