Thanks everyone. I got drunk for me last night, too. Wife and I are in Seattle for a conference (It's Herpes Summer Camp). Any Seattle swervies want to point me to a swerve-esque show this week?

When I Hear You Call My Name - Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster

That was a mouthful. These guys are.........interesting. Sounds like a jam session with At the Drive-in and Queens of the Stone Age with vocals that sound Glen Danzig doped up on ludes.

Well after a great conference in Seattle, spent a couple of days at a cabin near Mount Rainier. One of the 5 CDs the owners left for us was Gordon Lightfoot's Greatest Hits. After hiking to great views of the mountain and grilling out fresh Pike Place scallops and drinking lots of Hefewiessen, Gordon was perfect for the mood. Elton John's "Duets", not so much. Although waking up to the Best of the Doobies and packing to ZZ Top's Trés Hombres was pretty fun.

Now I haven't listened to Gordon Lightfoot since he was a staple of 70's AM radio, so it was alot of "I remember that song!".

Back to the grind really sucks.

Ain't a thing wrong with the Lightfood. Just ask Eugene. Tres Hombres is great, but if you're ever curious, Tejas is the best.

Welcome back to the grind friend. It still sucks. I don't know about everyone else, but it's been 90+ degrees here nearly all week. I bet Rocket knows about the heat wave.

I dearly hate the summer.

Oh, today's gotta be Urge Overkill's Tequila Sundae. Thanks Seed.

drinking lots of Hefewiessen, Gordon was perfect for the mood. And...Gordon has probably had a lot of Hefewiesen in his drinking days as well. He was a great Canadian drinker for a long time, but went sober back in mid-80's and hasn't had a drop since. Yep, he's one of my favs and a musical hero for me when I was growing up in Canada. One of my all time favorite CD/recordings of his is Don Quixote. If you like GL, get it...you won't be dissapointed. There is an intensity there and melancholy that only the loneliness of the Canadian wilderness and his great voice (then) can bring out. Hearing him now (and understandably with his recent illness and surgery) is kinda painful, 'cause his voice is shot. I think at present, he is touring. God Bless ya' Gord.

I don't know how many of you care, but I went last night to see one of my favorite bands the Black Crowes, and absolutely fuckin loved it. I think the coolest thing about it was finally being at a for real big rock concert after not having been to one in literally ten years. Local and bar bands have officially lost all of my interest.

that's cool 'loper. I have never seen the Black Crowes outside of a tiny venue (They used to open for Mary My Hope and Drivin' 'n' Cryan' circa 1989, when they were known as Mr. Crowes Garden) (Sven was MMH's bassist and Steve Gorman was their first drummer.)

Had no idea they were still touring. This is their 20th year, no?

I saw the Crowes in March 'loper. They played 3 nights in Shepherds Bush and played a different set every night. They were selling CDs of the concert 5 minutes after they had finished which was pretty cool.

I've got 2 discs on heavy rotation at the house, as I continue unpacking, and believe me these have saved the day.
1. Rocket's Punks and Indies.
2. Boomer's Dream Baby, Dream.

Thanks, bruthas. They're both masterpieces.
