Reunited and it feels so good.
Thanks Jez, thanks everyone. I'll thank Mr. Franklin on Sunday. I just became a 15% happier person. The fall is treating me very well this year.
Okay....onto the next and most obvious question...
When are you lads going to be heading back into the studio? |

As a long time lurker in these forums, all I can say is that perhaps there is justice in this world! Now when I hear about the next American Idol tour headed towards my city, I can just smile, tune out, and "never lose that feeling."

I think I just peed myself a little bit. My god please let charlotte or somewhere semi close be on the schedule. I gotta start saving money now... might even have to talk the wife out of the return to the mayan riviera for a road trip. I'm sure she'll understand. :O
Thanks for the confirmation Jez. I dunno if I could have made it through the weekend no knowing if it was fake or not.

This is great news.
I saw Adam a couple weeks ago at The Earl in Atlanta and he was nice enough to sign my "Duel" (water pistols) T-shirt and talk Premier League Football after a rocking show.
Jez - When does practice start for the tour? Is there a new album in the works? So many questions - so little bandwidth.
Adam - Liverpool was really lucky to sneak a draw vs. my Spurs. This season has been one long conspiracy so far. |

Robbo has forgotten that he can use his hands, King is still injured, and I can't remember the last time I saw that little roadrunner Lennon acting like his old self. Definitely a conspiracy. |

That's me. I did those on 4-track in 2000, and I *just* re-recorded them in the studio as a benefit album for Jawbox singer J Robbin's son Cal, who has Spinal Muscular Atrophy. You can stream it at virb.com/gordonwithers or download at myspace.com/threetoedmusic -- it should also be available at regular places (iTunes, eMusic) soon.
I also recently did a 4-track demo of "Duel" for 4 cellos and gave a copy of it to Adam at his Arlington, VA show in September! I don't have that one posted anywhere but I'll get on it and let you know.
Take care! |

So so so excited for this!
I used to post on that list - mostly had nothing to do with Swervedriver, but was always hilarious. The week after discovering Anton Maiden was incredible. |

That was one of the funniest weeks of my entire life, I think. Somewhere I still have some of Anton's original demos (not the more-polished ones he "released"). Did you know he actually killed himself a few years ago? It was tragic! |

They were a different scene than Swevedriver, but they left such a similar musical legacy in terms of impact and still-loyal fanbase.
And damn, there's another reunion show I'd love to see. |

Musta just missed each other Gordon, I was at that show also. Love your Cello playing. The tonality of a well played Cello always slays me. I listen to a lot of string quartet music, and love contemporary adaptations so that was very nice to hear your My space offerings. I live in Frederick MD. Which studio did you use? I am looking for a place that can do a good job with acoustic guitar. Regards, Geno |

Thanks Eugene! Glad you like the tracks. I actually just moved to the area, so I'm not familiar with the scene here yet, although you could always try Jawbox's J. Robbins himself -- he has a studio in Baltimore:

This is such amazing news. Poor Brad is on a driving tour of the West coast and probably has no idea! He is missing out on the crowning glory of Swervedriver forum news
P.S. from Adam's myspace Blog: Wednesday, October 24, 2007
The Road Is Long
So it looks like Swervedriver will hit the road once more. It all happened quite quickly and we met up in a pub in London last month and figured out what we'd like to do, which at this point is just heading out and playing some shows again.
As far as new recordings are concerned, I already have two albums to record next year (a new 'solo' and The Setting Suns debut) and they take priority. Maybe the Swervies can rustle up a new tune or two but really, there's more than enough going on with that back catalogue already.
I gotta say that something that really sparked my interest in this was hearing the live version of Sandblasted that has been posted for some time at swervedriver.com and subsequently at the MySpace page. I'd just never heard it played like that before. I mean, I guess I was there and everything, but it's got this great kinda country style to it that sounds like it might have only happened one night, and it's stuff like that that keeps the whole thing alive to me... not only in the music but the fact that other folks cared enough to record and post these recordings.
In the meantime this 'Bolts of Melody' tour has been going really good and finally it's reached the point where nobody bitches after the shows about the lack of Swervedriver songs! I guess because they've been leaving completely satiated by the set that culminates with the twelve minute C chord that is Ramonesland. Things are nicely in place to build on with another album next year and there's already a great album taking shape I think..
So I guess I'd better sleep now.. cheers - A

That's so awesome!! Plenty of mates here in Australia are excited about the news and are drooling on the floor as I write, about the 2008 tour. I'm doing a fill in slot on community radio and will mention the news, just spoilt for choice as to what tracks to play but 'Year of the Girl' will be a sure thing. Quite a few aussie bands have been influenced by Swervedriver. Never thought I'd see Swervedriver and the original Dinosaur Jr in the space of a year. Bring it on! Kat.

You mean, I just had one of the best weeks in my whole life, worked in SaudiArabia for the royal family, met Penelope Cruz at the party in the embassy and then there's this Swervedriver thing again? Wot? I have to test myself for drugs really urgently. You mean, the world is THAT good suddenly? What about my endless dribble of feeling sorry for myself and that? Down the loo? Bummed.
