Comment: that always bugged me to see bands smash guitars. if they’re so bored sick of their gear, why not give it to kids in the crowd who could use it for something constructive. i once saw courtney love give her guitar to someone, & even though i can hardly stand the opportunistic media whore, it was nice to see…

Comment: Erik, It’s Sat night and I’m just checking in for the first time in a few days, you should have emailed me about your show I had nothing to do last night. Dammit! Erik I don’t know if you are interested but Flickerstick is playing at the Norva on July 7th its next Sat. Ok don’t you people don’t laugh cause everyone’s got a couple of duds in their closet they tell noone about, but Marilyn Manson is playing at the Norva on July 10th and I got a ticket. I know, I know but I saw him in 1998 In RVa at the Landmark cause my girl at the time was in love with him and I said I wouldn’t go, so she bought me a ticket and begged, but to my shagrin the show rocked. I mean like scary goosebumps when he came out and the crowd went insane, so I’m gonna go watch this one the second time usually isn’t as good when it’s something you’re not THAT into, but hey, I live in Fucking Hampton Virginia OKAy! I’m hungry for anything. SHEESH!

Comment: Well if you are looking for some hope in today’s music scene, just listen to Sianspheric’s latest The Sound Of The Colour Of The Sun. It soars a little more than SWD, vocals take a back seat to blistering guitar wall of sound, but it’s about as close to 1991 Oxford that I’ve heard in, well, about 10 years. It’s that good.

Comment: ahhh yes, the early 90’s swd, ride, mbv, pixies, janes addiction, etc . guitar music just doesnt have the same vibe these days. (thank god for adam franklin still creating decent songs). i have found my new nirvana in the lush electronica of ambient drum & bass a la ninja tune.

Comment: I remember 1991-1994 (5?) as the best musical years of my life. I was introduced to SWD and Ned’s around the same time as well. What an amazing time. You know, much of the music today is so uninspiring that it’s scary. I don’t seem to have the potent memories associated with the music of today, as I do with music of the early 90s. It’s like we have returned to the God awful mid to late 80s, with all of the spandex rock crap, just in another form. Don’t get me wrong, there is some good music today, but, when I hear Never Lose That Feeling, I literally get chills, and so many amazing times come back to me. Similar with songs like Homemade and On Fire from Sebadoh. I really miss those days. Anybody with me? Have a fantastic weekend everyone. Z

Comment: I was watching late night HBO last night and there was this strange movie about ravers and surfers in Cornwall. Anyway, half way through the movie i was surprised to hear ‘Duel’. Has anyone else seen the movie???? Do you know the name of it???? It was kinda surreal as I was in and out of sleep during it. Well it is friday and I am just getting off work. It has been a stressful week for me. I think I will have to roll one up and grab a twelve pack on the way home. As the say here in TX ‘yall have fun’ dont party to hard. Erik tell all the guys they still need to learn how to drink be for they can be real rock stars (specially Mr. Brown). later nigel

Comment: Art, yes those were strange days indeed. It’s a shame that so many tragic things (Phillips’ suicide, Gator killing his girlfriend) came from such an amazing era. There was no money for skateboarders or punk rockers back then. It was done out passion, something that we all couldn’t not do. I once saw Thrasher (the skateboarding magazine) do an advertisement for Swervedriver. There was a picture of Adam playing live. He was wearing a Thrasher T-shirt. That, for me, was a great thing. Kind of like seeing your old school roots connecting with your modern day loves. It’s almost 6:00pm here, about time for me to close up the goddamn library and get ready for tonight’s Rock and Roll… Take care all, -E

Comment: Erik, I can’t believe Jeff Philips is dead. Much less that he killed himself!?! I used to skate in Louisiana in the early 80s and saw those big Texas Zorlac guys often. We skated all along the Gulf Coast back then and saw a lot of Jeff Phillips, John Gibson, Monte Nolder, etc… In a way, it doesn’t surprise me that one of these guys would take his own life. Skating then wasn’t the industry that it is today. At least not with cash sources like televised X-games and Playstation deals and what not. Those guys hustled and sweated and bled for every penny they earned. I heard that Mark (Gator) Rogowski became a born again christian, killed his girlfriend and dumped her body in the desert. What a weird time it was to be alive back then.

Comment: Ian, I was first introduced to both SWC & Ned’s at the same time back in 1991/92. I was touring in Europe and this kid named Jimmy from Leeds who was following us (he may have been our only fan) kept going on and on about them. Needless to say, that Spring changed my life. Years later I managed to hunt down a copy of the Kill the Superheros t-shirt that he wore.

Comment: Sounds like everyone is good to go for the weekend. Sam, I can sympathize for the loss of Jai. Some of the best days of my life were during the mid to late 80’s. I was young, dumb, loud, and obnoxious, constantly rocking out to Black Flag or the Misfits and skating every second I could. Back then skateboarding was more of an individualistic art. It took a lot of balls to skate back then because it wasn’t acceptable in the eyes of mainstream society. Nowadays skateboarding, Wheaties, and ESPN are interchangeable, not quite the same. Jeff Phillips, an amazing skater from Texas, and a driving force for skating in the 80’s, killed himself in 1993. I didn’t take that too well, so I definitely feel your loss… But on a less depressing note, my band is playing tonight in Norfolk, Va. Paul, come out if you can. Sorry I haven’t emailed you lately. Hope all you Scots are well (everyone else too, particularly the Oz sisters 😉 Steve, take care and I’ll speak to you soon. Have good weekends. -E

Comment: Yeh Zach & Haw. Just Landed is amazing. Did you read on the Toshack Highway site that they hired out a space suit to record it!! Fucking cool or what!! Steve, sorry about the sheppards pie experience. I would like to state it is an English invention and nothing to do with us Scotties. (Although we inflicted Haggis on the world so we would’nt feel left out on the crap traditional dish scene). The weekend is coming and it appears Im at a loss. All my mates are moving flat this weekend so what with them and the Haw there wont be a hire van left in Glasgow an Ive nae one to get drunk with. Big Auuuu please. Have a good one folks.

I’m just gonna do the whole back catalogue if I can and send to Art an let him put it up. So if anyone else is up for a bit of tabulating action (sounds almost sexual) let us know what tunes yer doin so I can crack on to other one’s. Kik, dinnae fret hen, I’ve been in Aberdeen for a month and the people up here think ANYBODY from Glasgow speaks too fast. Took me three attempts to order a pint last week!On a completely unrelated subject- Anybody into Ride might want to check out the ticket to ride site-it’s had a facelift, lot’s of 1990-93 type stuff. I felt WELL nostalgic. Ahhh, wish I could still have long hair……

Deep Seat is finished, and I did Son of Jaguar ‘E’ and Flaming Heart as well, so will mail em as soon as the move is finished (copies to Art too). Ian- right on, get the Kikster over to Jockland. Everybody else I know’s gone to Oz so we need to redress the balance here an’ one more Swervonian (WHERE did ye get that fae? sounds like a resident of a breakaway Balkan republic-Swervonia.) wouldn’t go amiss. I ordered their sheppards pie, big mistake. I’ll let my mum handle that from now on. They did have Stella on tap so I endulged in 8 (or was it 10) pints. It was a good night. Comment: Good day swervonions!! I awoke today with joy in my heart and a spring in my step. At last my Swervedriver collection is compleat! My mate gave me Sandblasted on CD the other day to keep cause he had it on vinal too. ‘Saureet init. so apart from having Surf Twang and Magic Bus thats my lot. i even found a white label pressing of ‘Jesus’ the other day with the Dylans doing another Velvet Underground track on the other side for the Princely sum of 3 quid. Kik – yer more than welcome here in Scotland. I’ve been on about getting a Swervedriver convention together for ages. It’d be great. we could sit and drink tea and eat bikies and talk about the various magical things that make up the wonderfull world of Swervedriver…. Either that or go and get pished at the 13th Note, run over the tops of some cars and throw up outside Central Station infront of the cops.

Comment: Toronto swervies-Do you remember the days when you could walk into the Sunrise on Younge (before the rennovations) and they would be jam-packed with swervie stuff? They had like 20 copies of EJR when you couldn’t get it anywhere else. They even displayed it for crying out loud! I assume that the guy who did the ordering for the store was one of us. Anyway, if it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t have all the singles and tid-bits that I have now. God bless him. I also remember the days when the Jays would roll into Boston and Yankee-land and do some serious damage (Kind of like what happened to Boston this past weekend). Ahhhh, the good ol’days…

Where Im from I only get to see about 1 act a year that really matters to me. I am curious about you. What do you do for a living? What part of the city do you live in? I always found lots of great stuff on AudioGalaxy but had too many problems with the Satellite and was unable to uninstall it completely. I do miss Napster, though. Being able to filter by bit/sampling rate was great! Speaking of Napster, I’m sharing the files there, too. I think they’re filtering songs by “swervedriver’ so you may only be able to find the Adam Franklin songs there.

Comment: Hey, all! It’s good to see Swervie stuff still active…it’s really tough to get any cd’s though. 99th Dream is now unavailable, at least here in Toronto. It’s the only album I haven’t purchased yet. That sucks! Took me awhile to find Raise but I got it. Just one more thing…Limewire sucks, Bearshare sucks too. Check out Audiogalaxy Satellite. I find it even better than Napster (before the legal shtick).

Comment: Sleepy, just ask him before the show. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind as long as it doesn’t end up as a “rare live cd” on eBay. n30j3di, Ended up I already had the Adam live MP3s, but I did download the Toshack stuff. All done now. I added three more tidbits from Adam’s NYC show, all recorded with the annotation feature of my digital camera. They’re less than 2 minutes long each and DON’T expect CD-quality sound. They’re good enough to give you an idea of what the rest of us heard. Again, they’re avainable via LimeWire & BearShare.

Comment: What a fuckin’ weekend! Started out Saturday night when myself and three friends hosted our monthly Rock Fight at my favorite NYC watering hole, the Ding Dong Lounge. A Rock Fight consists of any number of DJs, several hundred classic rock albums, and a whole lot of beer. In this case it was a whole lot of my home brew. We spun until around 7:30 the next morning. Ghost, someone did actually lay down Green Eyed Lady at one point! Anyway, there was a LOT of Stones being played. Sunday I slept for about 4 hours then hit the flea markets to look for more records. At 8:30 I hooked up with my mates and we headed to Irving Plaza to see Mogwai. This was the closest thing I’ve had to a religious experience since the Ejector Seat tour. Xmas Steps is one of the best live songs EVER! Got home around 1:30am, got up today at 9:30 with major ringing in my ears and immediately threw on CODY. Not a bad weekend. Not bad at all.

Comment: Not to worry Sir Haw. Maby next time. My mate went to the Furries gig last night and said it was the best gig he’d seen, at which point I reminded him of the Swervie 99th dream tour that he saw and he stood corrected. They did a DJ set after on the Renfrew Ferry and had a competition to see who could find the stupidest tune apparently…which would have been nice. Good luck with the move.

Huzzah, or something like that..Ian-never made it down chief. didn’t get out the GFT till midnight, and we were all knacked and still covered in paint so we had a quiet one. Still, the furries DVD was pretty good, if a little heavy on the subject matter. Reckon I’ll get the album when it’s out

Comment: Man, it’s been a hell of a weekend. On Friday night my band played a set as the Rolling Stones for our singer’s wedding anniversary. I was Brian Jones. By the end of the night, after all the whiskey I consumed, I geniunely felt like Brian, that is, DEAD! It was so great to rock out songs like “Under My Thumb” and “Get Off My Cloud.” Last night, I went to this other club to see a friend’s band and the Romantics were part of the audience!! How weird is that?! By Romantics, I mean the 80’s rockers who had hits with “That’s What I like About You” and “Talking In Your Sleep”. I was introduced to their lead singer who seemed like a really nice guy, but he talked my ear off and I couldn’t for the life of me think of a single fucking thing to say to him. I felt like Chris Farley: “Ummm yeah, like, that was really cool when you guys, like, did that song, like, back in the 80’s.” Strange evening indeed. Steve, you know I’m a sucker for a good fuzz pedal. That would be amazing if you could send me one of your own construction. Anne, the Brown-eyed Oz girl, have fun helping Kik celebrate. Do you two live in the same city? If not, you’ll have to take part in some distant celebrating like the rest of us. I’ll definitely be raising a glass to Kikster and Steve on Tuesday. Hope all is well with the rest of you. -E

I guess now that a Butthole Surfer is doing sound at the Fly, bands wont have to worry about being “too loud and offensive”. Christ, what a joke… Steve, did I give you that Skywave CD when you were last in town? You would love them, good noisy feedback over blissful pop tunes, total Pyschocandy-era sound. Here’s their link in case I forgot to give you the album. www.killerrockandroll.com They just recently put out a 7″ that had a cover of Sunny Sunday Smile by MBV. The resemblance is uncanny. Haha, the Red Eyed Fly is still looking out for us, eh? Fuck ’em… I don’t think I have your phone number in Austin. Email it to me when you get a chance: j_nevada59@hotmail.com It’s a shame that Andre’s up in Canada. In just one week, the unfortunate schmuck missed seeing his three favorite bands, the Black Crows, Oasis, and Adam/Swervedriver. He’s going to be kicking himself for awhile over this one. It’s just like that time back in ’96 when he refused to go see Sebadoh and Elliot Smith because he was “too tired”. What a wimp, Elliot Smith became another one of his faves and he could have seen him play just down the street from his fucking apartment, haha. Oh well, this just gives me more things to hold over his head. What are friends for? It sounds like you’re doing well in Texas, man. We sure miss you here in old Virginny. Take care Nigel. -E

Comment: Are you all fans of Nick Cave? On his website it says that he’s coming to DC later this year, but I haven’t seen any listings from the club or ticketmaster. He’s most likely going to be hitting NYC oncemore, so it looks like I might be making the trip up there. Are you making a tab link, Art? There was a guy on AJ’s site years back that had an amazing ear for transcribing Swervedriver’s music. He figured out “Never Lose that Feeling” note for note. Maybe he could be found through AJ? I don’t know… Anyway, the site’s looking good and the Adam performances seem to have pumped a lot of enthusiasm into our ever-eager-for-Swervedriver blood. Hopefully all the other band members are happy gents these days. It would be amazing to see what kind of music they all would write on their own …(but of course this does not mean that I want less Swervedriver)…

Comment: Hello again, Danny! Good to see you here. Yeah, I’m going to try to make that Fez show as well. Where in the hell is it though? The last time I was in NYC was to see Swervedriver at Tramps, so it’s been awhile. I’m going to attempt to remember the set list of the DC performance for you guys. It’s something like this: the Hitcher, Juggernaut Rides, the Other Jesus, Jesus (the Velvet Underground), Last Train to Satansville, They’re Hangin’ Me Tonight (traditional country song, I think), Planet Girl (I think that’s what it’s called, it’s a Lonely Ones tune), Willing to Wait (off Sebadoh’s Harmacy record), Out in the Streets (the Shangri La’s), Everyday Rock and Roll Saves my Life (truly amazing song), I Hate Rock and Roll (Jesus and Mary Chain). I think that’s it, there may have been one or two more that I just can’t remember right now. Good times indeed… Hopefully everyone else will be able to get a taste of the performances in one way or another. Have good weekends everyone… -E

Comment: Last night was great. Thanks Adam! I took a few snaps and even managed to record some shoddy 2-minute excerpts via my digital camera’s note taking feature. i’ll post them here as soon as I get it all sorted out. The show was amazing — especially I Hate Rock n’ Roll. I felt that one, too. So not to be a gossip hound but here’s what I got from Adam as per Swervedriver: Steve was taking a film course or something like that. Jimmy has dozens od half-filled wine bottles all over his flat as the result of a wine-tasting course, possibly with the intent of opening a wine shop??? Jez is moving, playing golf and mixing live swervedriver footage for an official SWD Live release. There was no difinitive statement on the future of Swervedriver. But anyone there last night–or at any of these live accoustic shows–knows that the material is timeless, in whatever form it comes to us. I think the band must know that too.

Comment: i was unbelievably impressed last night. The only thing that pissed me off was the third song when the mic started flipping out cause that was arguably the best song of the entire set. (Was that a cover? I didn’t recognize it.) After we left, my girlfriend turned to me and said, “Wow, he’s bitter.” I think it was the “I Hate Rock and Roll” cover that convinced her. Yeah, you could tell he really got into that song. It made me wonder what’s going to become of swervedriver. Has the music industry been so tough on them that they won’t even bother? God I hope not. One thing i know for sure: I’ll be at Fez’s. I only wish i could be going to see swervedriver instead. Hopefully, at Fez’s he’ll cover “Last Train to Satansville.”

Comment: Fester-i hear ye. Don’t know about the Mark/Andy/Idha thing-basically Mark got a bit pissed off with Anders as he was spending all his time with his new girlfriend/future wife on the Going Blank Again tour. That and Andy going REALLY retro in his music and kind of taking a more frontline role when Mark (to the media) was previously thought of as head shed in Ride songwriting-wise. Andy felt he wasn’t getting enough credit and that’s pretty much what marked the beginning of the end. Not quite a full on soap opera but there is a hint of Eastenders in it.I dunno-they were never really the same for me after carnival of light came out. Annyywwaay…. Dave-check yer e-mail again-more tabs done.

Comment: Adam suggested I check out this site…looks like I jumped in just in time. Actually…the truth of the matter is this. Phil Ames rang me on Sunday night asking if I could be in Vancouver for a show on Tuesday – replacing Graham for the rest of the U.S. tour. That gave me 24 hourse to learn all the material on the set list. When I arrived in Vancouver there was no rehearsal and only a very brief line check. Yeah…rave down gave me problems…but so did the sound system and a drum riser that came apart at the seams. Anyway…no excuses. Two nights later we played in Seattle and the show went much better. Of all the f*ckin’ shows on the tour to be bootlegged…it had to be that one. Oh well. I have the tapes of the Seattle show…and the difference is night and day.

Comment: Ghost…Have that bootleg and I think it is funny what Adi says. You forgot the last thing he said, though, cause he really is stressed during the whole show with Danny. “Maybe we’ll buy you a T-shirt or something.” Ouch. That had to hurt. Then Danny didn’t know “Ravedown” either and they stop three times and Jimmy has to show Danny how it goes. You gotta love that kind of stuff. The show must go on…

Comment: But you’re here in spirit kikster, you know that… Didn’t Andy Bell’s wife leave him for Mark Gardener? (or was it vice versa?) Sorry to ask such a soap opera-esque question… Someone told me that later on this summer Radiohead is playing in Centerfield, Va. and it’s the only east coast date they play. I’m not too big of a Radiohead fan, but I heard Sigur Rosse is touring with them. I’d love to see those cats. Do any of you know anything about this? Paul, yeah that was a trip meeting Danny in the bathroom line after we were just talking about him. He said he’d email me info about his new band when it gets underway, should be cool. As a one time Swervedriver drummer, Danny sure has some hella credentials. JJ, yeah “Satansville” lent itself very well acoustically. Adam played it right after playing “Jesus” by the Velvets. Too funny. Hope you New Yorkers are enjoying the show every bit as much as we did. Take care all… -E

Comment: Erik, I told Ron what that dude Danny was telling us about being a part-time swerve and Ron said he thought I had a boot video with Danny in it and sure enough 1992 the Raise tour and DAnny is on the drums and Adi even introduces him in the middle of the set and says, “our drummer went AWOL, so we’d like to thank DAnny from D.C. for filling in on 24 hours notice, we think he’s doing a good job” then they go into Deepseat and Danny has the tempo all wrong so Adam follows the drum’s lead to compensate, it’s pretty cool. I was actually depressed the day after the metro show because , well…it was all over. Dude we were like little girls on the way home after the show saying, “did you see the way Adam did this”? and “Did you hear that change then and his voice omigod it’s like butter”. I think I might have to be like a Deadhead the next time Swerve is on tour and follow them to every show cause that shit made me feel real good. Still Buzzin, G.O.

Comment: Man, it was absolutely intoxicating seeing Adam perform the other night. It was even more amazing than I thought it would be. I have always recognized Adam’s genuis, but after seeing what he is capable of doing by his lonesome, I was even more blown away. I doubt there is anyone else in this world who could play traditonal country, the Velvet Underground, the Only Ones, Sebadoh, the Jesus and Mary Chain, the Shangri La’s, revamped Swervdriver, and have all of it make perfect sense. His new songs are absolutely beautiful as well. Adam definitely has his own musical identity, not to mention his guitar playing and singing are flawless. A good friend of mine, who is an avid Swervedriver hater, went to the show with me, and even HE was impressed with the performance. I also finally got to meet “the Ghost” in person (whattup Paul). I hope the rest of you Swervies who weren’t able to catch any of these dates are able to do so soon. Thank you for the music, Adam …”you know, it was all right”… “Everyday, Rock and Roll is saving my life”…

We need to go back to England together and pick things up where we left off. We’ll have more WWII vet’s buy pints for the yank lads, destroy another bathroom, and start some fights at a soccer game. Until then, stay cool in that Texas heat and definitely stay in touch… go piss on the Red Eyed Fly for me. Love, Erik

Comment: No, Erik…Ron Asheton wasnt performing at my Fog show, either. At first, I was very disappointed, but now I think that I actually preferred it that way. The reason is because those shows with Ron Asheton seemed to cut the Mascis sets pretty short, so they could end with a bunch of Stooges covers. It was cool to see/hear the handful of Stooges covers that Watt sang, but I also wanted to get as many Mascis and Dinosaur songs, as possible. That might not have made too much sense.

Good to get caught up with what the Swervies have been up to. Is there anyone near Austin on this mailing list. I just moved here and am looking for some desent people to drink with. Last time I went out I almost got into a fight with this Irish fuck who was talking shit about english football. He said it was boring. I guess he missed the UEFA cup final. What a season for Liverpool. Sorry, I know a few of the guys from Swervedriver are Arsenal supporters.

One of the other guys in my band uses a 1971 Artist and the clean channel is amazing. I could use a line splitter for them both. so if you could get in touch that would be magic. e-mail me at terradiablo@woodstock.com. and let us know a price. Comment: Welcome home Eric! Very nice name. Is Adam the headliner of this show? I’ve never heard of the other bands, but they all have really lousy names (then again, how good of a name is “Dragstrip Syndicate”?) Paul, how in God’s name do you owe money to a former employer? Did you take advantage of the employee discount? I know I would. I just found out earlier that one of my guitar heroes, Randy Holden, is still alive!! I thought he had been dead since the early 70’s, but he’s still rocking out!! Sorry, had to share my excitement there. Comment: I dont have tickets because I bought them online and they will be at will call that night. I saw three other bands listed with Adam and the times for the show were something like 8:30-11:55. I also just listened to the acoustic show and was blown away. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the swervedriver songs without the wall of sound that goes along with them but stripped down to an acoustic guitar they are beautiful. Song three was my fave I think (sorry, bad with song titles). Adam. How long of a set are you going to play? Just wanted to say this guestbook rules. I feel right at home here. Eric

Comment: Adam, I listened to your acoustic show that you had on that website a few months ago, actually I ran a line to my stereo and taped it and have listened to it many times over (Harry & Maggie kills me) and I don’t know if its cause it’s running through a soundboard, but the audience is dead silent. So I was wondering what the etiquette is like at your acoustic show cause I want to sing along man, just belt em out loud with you. Also, I have seen many home made videos of Swerve, and I was wondering what your personal rules are to videotaping and or making photographs. I don’t have a video camera, I am just curious. Thanks, we love ya.

Comment: KIKster, what in the name of the Slaughter House are you talking about? New Eric, what time is the Franklin show on your tickets? The metro is still advertising three other bands that aren’t Mister Franklin on that same day, and we don’t know when to show up, we’ll just have to come early in the day. We’ll camp out and make signs and people will have to ask and then we will spread the Gospel of The Other Jesus. Old Erik, I got a letter from Tower the other day and I was all like, “oh let’s see which of these little girlies wrote to me heh heh heh”, but then like Tower was all like, “Dear Mister Ghost you owe us 100.00! Pay up or die dipshit.” So then I was like “oh, damn that’s fucked”.

Comment: Garlic Soul, Did J Mascis have Ron Asheton playing with the band when you saw that show? I got to see Mike Watt with him, which I have to say was fucking great because he belted some furious Stooges covers, but I would have loved to have seen the man himself performing with J. Ah, the feeling of being lost in Drones… I think all of us here know it all too well. I saw the Black Crowes and Oasis last night. I don’t think I’m an arena-rock show kind of guy. Just give me a divey club with some loud, in-your-face gits and I’m happy (Of, course acoustics are great too, next week man, next week…) Hope all is well, Baby Blues. -E

Comment: Thanks for pointing out that Boston documentary, Paulo. I just saw a recent Mascis gig. Wow. Quite an experience to see him live. Sound waves have physical effects on the body…like those experiments that I read about where they tried to discover the frequency where something (even a human body) would break down. Like how certain singers can shatter glass, if they hit the right pitch. Anyway, I could definitely feel Mascis rearranging my molecules, with his guitar. It was amazing. I am loving his new album, too. Especially, that song Ammaring. There’s this part in the third solo, where his guitar sounds like some huge bird. It just feels like my heart is being pulled out of my body, through my stomach, at that point. hahah! A pleasant image, to be sure! Man, I’m so tempted to make the drive over to L.A. to catch Adam’s acoustic set. I know it will be memorable. Of course, I have become much too lazy, so I will probably just sit at home. shawnte

That’s great that Bob Mould got to see Swervedriver’s U.S. debut. I’m sure he felt something like a proud father hearing you guys. It’s a shame that two of the greatest songwriters from that generation, Bob and Grant, no longer communicate. The other night I couldn’t resist asking Grant if he and Bob were cool with one another. He said, “Cool is just the word I’d use” then he winked. Oh well… I shall be seeing you in Washington D.C. on the 12th, Mr. Franklin. I am so looking forward to it. Take care, -E

Comment: Jerry: if u have some xtra special live swd songs, why not put them on a small site for people who love their music? i am planning to do that with the recent adam franklin internet set, (when i manage to get a clean enough sample from the realstream).
