It’s good to know Jimmy is alright and still got that same hairstyle so peculiar to the best guitar players. Hope he hasn’t quit the band thing for good. Was it him on that triple J’ live take of “blowing cool”? Gee, “he flowin” (as the rappers say), absolutely perfect, and I mean perfect. Try listening to that song with headphones…And the idea of home made 4-track recordings with no instruments other than guitars is marvelous. Hope it’s realesed soon…

Date: Sat Sep 29 10:29:56 2001 Name: Adam Swervie City/State/Country: Comment: Fear not folks! It’s difficult to say what may happen. Situations change, people move on….. Rock’n’roll trundles on too. The Strokes are almost….Jimmy saw them play in Brighton and thought they rocked and riffed good…he just likes them because they’ve got his hair. I saw Guided By Voices at Coney Island and they soared! Open your eyes and they look like Eddie and the Hot Rods…they were so drunk in the afternoon…..but those three-minutes blasts of perfect fizzing pop are to die for!…. what can I say except that this Toshack Highway 4-track release comes out sometime next month and it’s called “Everyday, Rock’n’Roll Is Saving My Life” and it probably sounds more like Swervedriver than the Toshack album..except it doesn’t… it’s guitars not keyboards, songs not instrumentals, but then again it’s not like SWD at all because there’s no bass or drums and it’s lo-fi as hell! I like the sound of 4-track recordings and almost all the Swervedriver material has always been recorded that way initially, and so this release for me has continuity with that stuff…except no one’s ever heard that…you wanna? And I like doing Sci-Flyer etc acoustically but gotta make another noisy record again soon…………….ffffzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz …………” When You Motor Away”……….
Date: Fri Sep 28 20:00:04 2001 Name: Paulo City/State/Country: Real Comment: The Strokes will be on the cover of Rolling Stones and I think on Spin mag next month. WoW, looks like thhey’re on their way to the top. They’ve been hailed by a brazilian journalist as the “salvation of rock and roll”, which technically means they won’t last for long. Not that they’re bad, mind you. In fact they’re quite competent, but…okay, you know all the crap about pop industry…I saw Luna last week and it was quite nice, they played a relaxing set with most songs taken from “Penthouse”. Ever since the ol’ days of Galaxie 500 i never thought Dean Wareham to be such a great talent but now I start to realize how good a lyricist he is (“you’re out all night/chasing girlies/you’re late to work/and you go home earlies…”). Next month a whole bunch of popstars will be landing on these shores to play at 12th edition of the “Free Jazz Festival” to be held in Real and Sao Paulo. Last year we had Sonic Youth and Sean Lennon. This year the lineup features Belle & Sebastian, Catpower and Sigur Rós, among other lesser acts. I guess they should change that name to “Jazz-free Festival” ,dontcha thnk?. Anyway, I’ll have to go because of my girlfriend…(Is there a single girlfriend in this world that doesn’t like Belle & Sebastian? For Chrysssake…). Erik, just like you said, you’ve got to keep playning for the love of it, that’s what make great bands what they are. Look at Superchunk, a true monolith of rock and roll that never quite got to the Rolling Stones cover despite years and years on the road…and they still haven’t lost the feeling, playing and touring on and on… They just love that shit, it’s written on their faces…Just keep it flowin…Good weekend to y’all…

Date: Sun Sep 23 11:11:33 2001 Name: art City/State/Country: nyc Comment: I hate to get off on a rant here, but anyone with more than a CNN knowledge of US foreign affairs knows that things are not as black and white as the media or our government would like us to believe. We arm and support just about every nation we eventually attack. Can you name a few? Let’s see, Panama? Iraq? Iran? Nicaragua? And now Afghanistan? If you spend a little time and energy you can also come to realize that the leaders of these countries, just like the leaders of our country, don’t necessarily reflect the views of their masses. Take Afghanistan for instance. Those people are starving, orphaned and crippled thanks to the Russians, the Taliban and soon the U.S. They would be psyched if we went in there and got rid of the Taliban, but then I don’t think that is the issue right now. The issue is supposedly getting whomever attacked us. But the current “War Powers Act” or whatever they call it gives the (p)resident authority (like the president of the U.S. ever needed the authority to do anything!) to bomb the shit out of any nation “suspected” of aiding the attackers. A blanket license to kill as I see it. And will this ultimately lead to getting back at our attackers? I somehow doubt it. We’ve shot cruise missiles at Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. Are they dead? No. Did we kill hundreds of innocent civilians? Yes. Will more of this kind of behavior convince the rest of the world that we are the true pariah? Possibly. Now how about we all listen to some Swervedriver?!!

I really dont know what to think. I think the US should take care of buisness. My father is a retired US airforce Chief mastersargent and my Mum is english. I spent the first 16 yrs or so of my life in Oxfordshire and went to school on a US military base.

Isn’t life hard enough to get through without all this other shit! Again, I don’t see why America has to help everyone else out in the world. If they hate us all, screw it. Let’s not help. We will see how much the world helps out in our time of need. Even though countries are pledging alliance, somehow I can see them bowing out when the tough gets going. But that’s America’s problem, right? We should just send the guys who killed 6,000+ people- food, medical supplies, etc. How about a dozen roses and big house on a hill with 2 cars in the garage. America isn’t friggin’ Hollywood…we have thousands of homeless, hungry, etc. Whatever…

The most important thing that people seem not to hear is that it isn’t an attack on innocent lives, but on terrorists. I’m sure the people of these countries are being terrorized in their own way by the terrorists. Our country does like to stick it’s nose into other country’s business, but we also are a big money aid to these countries. I’m not saying everything our country has done is right, but there really is no other choice now. For America or the world.

Date: Sun Sep 16 03:28:04 2001 Name: seb City/State/Country: midlander Comment: on friday i was having dinner with friends. the conversation turned to the ‘terroism’ in the US. One of my friends, who is a bit right wing, pleasantly shocked and suprised me, by his thoughtful views on how millitary action might escalate this all further, He also talked of the west using lunatics such as saddam to battle against others on our behalf eg: iran v iraq war. I saw the bbc question time on thursday and i don’t think the idiots in the audience, really are representative of the british people as a whole. Anyone remember Idi Armein, The british trained him, he went to millitary school in scotland. Then later he starts bucthering his own people. Then we want to kill him. The west has spent 30 years playing chess with a bunch of very dangerous people. My thoughts are with the victims & families.

Date: Sat Sep 15 12:00:06 2001 Name: Fester City/State/Country: Totonto Comment: For some reason, I’m strangely calm about this right now. I too wish Baby Bush would cool down with the tough guy talk, but I think Jedi’s right in that there are quality people behind the scenes that are much smarter than Bush’s sound bytes. Besides, when this article 5 kicks in, and the NATO alliance forms, I’m sure that the best course of action will be decided. I can’t you tell how relieved I was when I heard that countries like Syria and Libya have condemed the attacks. Libya!-now that’s being forgiving! I’m also getting the vibe that this has acted as a giant wake up call (as terible as the circumstances might be). I already feel people becoming more aware of themselves and the world around them. You just had to go to a local mall before this all happened to see just how selfish we had become as a society. You really don’t know now how good you have something until you experience the threat of loosing it. It appears as if the world will re-boot this Monday. I’m hoping for the best. God Bless.
Date: Sat Sep 15 01:10:46 2001 Name: Sundog City/State/Country: Chi-Town Comment: CC n3oj3di…that was my point about the Bush’s, former head of CIA etc (30,000 killed by U.S. Support in Central America and most people in the U.S don’t know about it. The Nuns who were killed there awhile back were killed by a group funded by the CIA). CC what you said Bertrand, Nostradamus has an uncanny knack for being accurate…or are we just seeing that in his Quatraines? What really scares me, is what happens if these guys get WMD’s. How can you really stop them from using them? As for solutions, have you guys ever heard of the World Game? I think it was created by Buckminster Fuller (Not sure though). If you want to read a good book (It’s kind of dry though), read a book by Bucky entitled ‘Critical Path’. It deals with how economies started, etc, and goes on to tell how he created the critical path for manufacturing (Which he did for Russia). But he goes on to tell how the entire world could live with everyone wealthy, etc. He is VERY serious about it too. It isn’t ‘pie in the sky’ from a technical point of view. Someone asked Bucky how he expected to get the world to use what he developed. He said he knew better than to try and change the world. He said he just created tools for the world to use when it is finally ready to use them (Or something to that effect). Perhaps one day we will advance enough Socially to match the progress we have made with technology. Also, I agree with what you said about the Death Penalty. Hell, the ‘war on drugs’ in America is really a war on the working class. But that’s a whole ‘nother story. ‘Imagine…’, well, that’s not a Swervedriver song, but it really hits the nail on the head. (remember Bay of Pigs, Oliver North?). its pure ‘supply & demand’, where weapons industry supplies the fundamentalists. Yet the finger will swing slowly around from Afghanistan to other Middle Eastern nations, and then, in all probability, Russia, China, North Korea. People don’t declare war, Governments do.

Date: Fri Sep 14 16:20:40 2001 Name: Zach City/State/Country: L.A. Comment: How’s everyone today? Somewhat better on my end. I don’t know about y’all, but I am feeling intensely thankful today for the blessing of living in a country or society that cherishes liberty and that disavows hate in most cases. For so many in this world, conditions are so bad that it’s easy to focus on hate as a means of survival. I didn’t have to experience this in my life and that is a blessing. Ian, I agree with your point about the ineffectiveness of any retribution. These are madmen, and nothing we do will stop them or those like them. I do know that I don’t want to allow their madness to change me or my country. It would be dishonoring the blessing of my life to want to strike out with random vengence. We in America have an opportunity to show the world that we are different. Temperence in the face of this tragedy might actually heal some of the anger and distrust of the peoples of the world. An eye doesn’t necessarily have to be for an eye, you know? Sadness and anger, yes, … lust for revenge, no. Let’s hope people everywhere realize that as long as violence is used, it never ends. Date: Fri Sep 14 13:50:30 2001 Name: Dan’l City/State/Country: Chicago Comment: How I hate politics. I always thought I was just an average joe trying to get by in someone elses world, but these events will enable us to change ourselves, if we can’t change the world. The middle eastern dude I buy my smokes from downtown was looking REALLY nervous Wednesday morning. He always calls me Chief (probably calls everybody that), but was completely silent. In a unconcious move, I made some small talk with him. Today, it seems to have made a difference in a environment that will never be the same anyway. My take on “Last Day on Earth” was always of one getting ready for space travel. If one wants to really set things off on the board here, what’s that line from ESR? Anybody? “…everybody has a right to a will to want to live… and right to want to die”. Might be true, but to take 4,000 (and climbing) lives with you… unspeakable.
Date: Fri Sep 14 12:40:39 2001 Name: art City/State/Country: nyc – forever changed Comment: Sundog, don’t get me started about the crown prince of oil men.. Ian, I agree with you about the naive attitudes towards terrorism these leaders are speaking with. I understand that we must rally and unite, but let’s use our common sense, too. We will never end terrorism. At best, we will become better at combatting it. And for every martyr we create, there will be scores of fanatics to follow. And Ghost, don’t forget the other line “We live through These Times but forever change..” I always liked the balance there. Erik, right now it just seems like the perfect time for Serverdriver!!!

Date: Fri Sep 14 07:12:00 2001 Name: Ian City/State/Country: Glasgow Comment: I was listening to a debate on to telly last night and through all the bullshit that was coming out of most people there were a few things I thought worth concidering, the main one being that you cannot fight terrorism without spreading even more hate. If someone is a fanatic and decides to do something like this they are going to do it regardless and the matter of stopping someone who goes out and is prepared to kill themselves and others for a so called cause is in the most part down to luck. If NATO etc decide to strike out at whole countrys in order to get they’re men they are going to have to concider that just as America and others will bear the scars for years to come, so to are the members of the countrys that will be hit unless they do it with tact, diplomicy and pin point accuracy. I can see a dommino effect of hate starting already and to be honest it scares the shit out of me. The problem with peace is it has little visible/tangable effect when you compare it with the effect of hate and that is why I despare sometimes. Peace to eveyone.

I can see that in your specific case yes the Aussies may have been unfair, but I’ll give 100 gold shiney stars to any country that doesnt have the death penalty.Sorry coz im being a bit sensitive on that point.Anyway..best remedy i can think of (short-term) is to fire up a skunky spliffoza put the head phones on and listen to land of the lost and year of the girl. And again Im sorry for pushing that point before(BTW I’m Australian if anyone is wondering what some knob from Yorkshire is doing sticking up for Australia)

Maybe it would be a good idea for us to think of the one Swervedriver song that cools our heads when everything else around is madness. For me right now, it’s “The Birds”. Though I have to admit, after my last posting I listened to “Last Day on Earth” and that touched me in ways that it probably never had before. Everyone, please take good care of yourselves. Lets just hope for a solution with as little bloodshed as possible.

Date: Thu Sep 13 23:58:41 2001 Name: Sundog City/State/Country: Chi-Town Comment: FYI, I only used Bin Ladens name, because that’s where most of the evidence has pointed thus far (As reported in the mass media, which isn’t saying much). Also, I never said anything about blaming all Arabs, etc. I truly feel sorry for all the Arab Americans living here, becuase some of them have all ready been the targets of violence as a result of this tragedy. As for your assualt on who prospers from it, I would just say that, yes, the Oil people ‘could’ benefit from it and the current U.S. administration was put into office by big oil money. Having said that, I don’t think the U.S. would go to war to line their pockets (As a whole…however some factions within it probably would). Anyone who has studied Capitalism and war knows that war is bad for business. Capitalism favors and prospers from stability, not war. BTW, I don’t believe in the Star Wars program. I added what I did in my last post for the irony of it. I might also add that I think the U.S justice system is far better then Australias. My brother just separated from his wife who is a citizen of Australia (They lived in Bathurst, N.S.W.)and I can say without hesitation that had they been married in the U.S., her rights here would have been far more than the rights my brother had in Australia (Which were basically none). Australia won’t even let my brother back into the country to fight for visitation rights with his childs, even though the mother is a diagnosed clinical manic depressive and her previous three children are all on suicide watch. They (The Australian Courts) didn’t even consider the welfare of the their child when giving her custody. I could list a whole host of other misrepresenatations of the Australian courts, so don’t compare it with the U.S. Court systems. They all have their problems. Sorry, but you touched a nerve there. As for the reasons behind all of this, I think the U.S. government knew there was going to be something big. Not this big though. President Bush stole the election (Another long story, but the Bush family’s Patriarch is the former head of our secret police, the CIA, and they have a long list of crimes to their name, Iran-Contra, S&L scandal, secret wars in Central America w/o congress’s authorization, etc.) President Bush’s ratings were sinking rapidly in the U.S., but every time they sink, something ‘pops up’ to distract the U.S. and the media. It is a known fact that the government put out an alert 7:30 AM of immenent attack against the U.S. the day of the attack. Maybe I am somewhat paranoid, but I don’t believe in coincidences. As for Bin Laden, I think we should find him and kill him for his previous attacks. We should also punish whomever is responsible for this attack. Sorry, but I am still really pissed about all of this. SD

Let’s not start pointing fingers or begin talking about going to war with all Islamic countries of the world. Let us not forget that the Oklahoma City bombing was carried out by a decorated U.S. soldier, among others. There are many Muslims living in this country, not because they hate America or our way of life, but because they embrace it. They embrace it the same way that all of our immigrant parents, grandparents, and relatives did when they came from whatever countries, religions, and cultures they were living in. Maybe we’re just starting to get a taste of the reality that a lot of other countries have already been experiencing for decades. Things are definitely changed forever and it’s sad to say that we, as Americans, are never again going to be able to take for granted all of these freedoms that we currently enjoy. I’m sure plans are already underway to bomb the living shit out of Afghanistan and/or Pakistan. Look I’m pretty pissed off, too and I want those fuckers who helped plan this thing to fry. I just hope that our current (p)resident, who has said nothing meaningful thus far, has brains enough not to start a war of ideologies. Because that’s exactly what makes meatheads in bum-fuck rural America go and burn down mosques and middle-eastern restaurants in their own neighborhoods. And it’s what encourages fundamentalists, both outside and within our own country, to do fucked up things. I’m glad to hear from everyone. This is a weird and disturbing time and I’m just happy to see so many familiar names (faces) here.

I just wonder how we respond to this attack. Whom do we target? Do you think we’ll risk an all out war with the Islamic world if we find out there were Iranians, or Saudis involved? If we find “links” in the attacks to a government, does that mean we are at war with that country? What a nightmare. Peace,Z
Date: Wed Sep 12 23:52:20 2001 Name: Sundog City/State/Country: Chi-Town Comment: The Anger. The Sorrow. Words simply will not suffice. Glad to hear you are safe Art. I have friends who live near the WTC and thankfully they were out of town when the attacks happened. Something somewhat ironic is that one of my friends Dad is the highest civilian working on the SDI program. His father had just left the pentagon and saw the fireball as the B757 hit the pentagon in his rearview mirror. I find it ironic because the current administration has been trying to use the idea of rogue states/terrorists as the reason to build SDI and it would not have made any difference with regard to the attack which just took place. I can only say, that when I first saw that second plane strike the WTC, It was like I was looking at something from a Hollywood movie…only it was real. It was unbelievable. Not to mention the stories issueing forth of the last conversations made by the passengers on board the aircraft are heart rending to hear. I work just south of Ohare airfield and west of Midway. To step outside of work and not see many planes in the sky….it seems as though I have ‘slipped’ through some invisible wall into another universe. I am glad they didn’t crash those aircraft into nuclear powerplants. Of course a friend of mine said, if they pulled a move this bold, what do they have up their sleeve that we don’t know about yet? Is it possible that Bin Laden has received nukes from the Pakistanis? I think it could get very scary real fast. My most sincere condolences to all the families and friends who lost a part of their souls yesterday. SD

It’s a strange feeling to realize that there are those whose goal in life is the destruction of my nation and its values. Our internal struggles in the Western nations with multiple cultures/races/nationalities/religions/political beliefs seem so small, and so absurd in the face of the evil and hate that this attack represented. All of us on planet Earth who cherish freedom and respect humanity must unite, as it looks like the force behind this has found a new level of organization, resolve and evil. Hoping for better days ahead and peace to you all, Zach

Date: Wed Sep 12 08:04:33 2001 Name: art City/State/Country: nyc Comment: Hi everyone. Thanks for all the kind thoughts. Yeah, those images are hard to get out of your head. The two 110 story buildings are just a pile of rubble now, not to mention the 47 story building next to them. I had to stop watching the news because these moronic anchor people reporting it knew nothing about what was really going on and the speculation was running a bit too high. President Bush’s long-awaited speech was rather thin when it finally came. All I could think when I was listening was “Let’s not start boasting about our ‘readiness’ right now.” I think today (Wednesday) will prove to be the more dificult in some ways because this is when they will really start to pull out the bodies from the rubble. It’s hard to imagine that today will be a regular workday for anyone. The streets are still relatively empty though you can hear random sirens echoing through the buildings and an occasional F-16 fighter will fly overhead. But not much else. I’ll check back in later. Thanks again. Art

At 9:05am I stared at it from my cube, and listened on the radio as the towers started to fall. Booked down stairs at the first word of evacuation to the street to find thinly veiled apprehension in what was a very orderly mass exodus. Passed up the train station and walked the thirty-five blocks home. This day has been beyond description. This is not just another media flash to roll off our desensitized backs. All of my heart is outside my body right now, in NYC, DC, and in the air. Had a selfish thought tonight of the possibility of the WTC housing the server on which this board resides – thought I’d check in – very glad to hear you’re OK, Art – stay safe and sane. I think it hits me a little harder just right now because I’ve lived here in New York for 13+ years and I have friends that would normally have been in the WTC today, but stayed home for whatever reason. After the first bombing years ago whenever I was at or in the WTC all I sould think is that these buildings were so massive that there was no way that they could ever come down. Now that I’ve seen how easy they both did come down everything has changed. And all of a sudden, too. Even though I am okay and all of my friends (as far as I know) are okay these events have changed everything. Adam, thanks from everyone here for your thoughts. Well, i did see him play last year with Sophia at All Tomorrow’s Parties. Met Robin Proper-Sheppard at the Trail Of Dead gig in London the following week and spoke for a bit – he told me he had a project called the May Queens or something and i am buggered if i can find anything by them anywhere – can anyone help please please please. OK, enough jibber jabber……. xxx

Date: Mon Sep 10 10:04:30 2001 Name: Ian City/State/Country: Glasgow Comment: Dan Dan the Chicago man – I just might be able to help you there. Being the gimp that I am I’ve got 3 copys of ESR two of which are on CD. Unfortunatly none of them have IAHN on it but you can have one if you want. Contact terradiablo@woodstock.com if you want one. Also I found the vinal version with the extra 7″ with it. It just had Flaming Heart and the beginingy bit on ESR on the other side. Was it this that they released IAHN on? Ive got a copy on tape but have never managed to track down the origional. Before I forget. Anyone whose house has been infultrated by low life Swervedriver stealing scumbags might be able to get some stuff from the CD Zone web site. I put in for a few things a while ago and although I’ve not got anything back yet I just checked my order and a few things are ready for shipping so give it a bash. Otherwise someone told me that Missing Records (thats appropriate) in Edinburgh had a back catalogue of Swervie stuff a while ago.

About a year and a half ago, someone stole my discman which had my esr promo cd in it, given to me by swervies management. I was so pissed off! I would have gladly given them the discman and not lose the cd. I still have the autographed sleeve though.. but to this day, I still get pissed off about it. owell, just wanted to babble.. laterz

So ‘sup to all the swervie fans? They seem hard to come by, especially in the state of indiana. Swervedriver has to be one of the best bands ever, too bad not many people acknowledge thier genious.

Whoever posted it didn’t care to even introduce him/herself or to personalize it in any way. Steve, I was just listening to a couple of my Jawbox 7-inchers yesterday. I forget how much I like them. What a great live band.

Stealing Swervedriver dics should be punishable by death or at least by a hand lopping. Well, Burning Airlines are playing tonight. I was a huge Jawbox fan but I am not sure if Burning Airlines has one my 5 star rating or not. I’ll see how they do tonight.

It gave them 4.5 stars, so cheers to that. In case this hasn’t been mentioned already (although I’ve got a feeling it has) a band called Elbow is worth a listen for all you fellow Doves fans out there. I don’t know about the rest of North America, but World Cup is huge in Toronto. It would be a shame if Brazil didn’t make it in because they always throw one hell of a party up here. Viva Owen!

What’s more, wasn’t Flaming Heart a bonus, too? At least I got the 7″ with my vinyl, and CD too courtesy of the RudAwakening(?) comp I had burned off of the lovely Lisa R. (cornhuskin mama!) Anyway any help will be appreciated and rewarded!

On a sidebar, I need a copy of ESR on CD – actually two copies, one for me and another to give to somebody who should have it (shouldn’t everyone?). Is the Creation release the one with “It’s All Happening Now” on it? I’ve looked on eBay but would like to strike a deal with somebody in the UK or elsewhere to score them (or at least one) in a record shop, and for the effort I’ll cough up the $25-35 USD each like I saw one go on eBay for. No vinyl pleeze as I already got one (and it’s wearing out!) Anyone interested hit me back on this board here…. I’m on the daily tip. Grazie…..

Date: Thu Sep 6 15:41:05 2001 Name: art City/State/Country: nyc Comment: We’ve never had spam here per se, but blatant and impersonal advertisements (like the one I just deleted) are probably not going to be very popular with the establishment (me). If you’re a Swervedriver fan and also have a life outside of that (meaning a band or other type of project), we’re all very interested to hear about it. Many fans have shared their music with each other on this message board and I have to say we’ve got quite a talented bunch. So, please continue plugging your bands, album releases and concerts here. Just try to personalize them a bit instead of copying and pasting a generic advert into the comment field. Thanks to everyone for keeping this such a great community! And sorry for having to be a pain!!

We didnt deserve to get through atall after the last few pittifull displays of, well… they call it football apparently. The Liverpool guys did it again!! I recone Scotland should get Craig Brown to F**k and bring in Graham Souness as coach so he can kick some pie eating, Tennents drinking ass and threaten them with they’re lives unless they get a result.

I was going to google and other search engines doing a search on that name, to try and figure it out..lol. Ian, WTG on the meal ticket. “Now class, the proper way to jam…..:::Ian throws on ‘The Son of Mustang Ford::::::’ . Wow, the Cranes are still rockin’? I really like their music. I always thought the drummer was excellent, in that he could play with a very ‘bare bones’ stripped down style without alot of accents and keep it interesting. How can you guys be talking about Football already when the season doesn’t start until this weekend!..hehe ;). I actually watched the World Cup a few years back and enjoyed it. I think I would like it more if I knew the rules. Anybody ever listen to ‘Neu!’? Listening to ‘Leave them all behind’ by Ride made me think of them, since that song was reportedly inspired by ‘Neu!’. Steve, you’re a Geek too!? I’m an engineer as well, only I deal with bending metal instead of chasing sparks ;). I have the cubicle at the back of room (The most difficult to see) and have a good set of headphones so I can throw SWD into the CD-ROM drive whenever I want 🙂 . Of course, the guy who sits across from me has to throw something at me to let me know when the phone is ringing or I am being paged..lol. Being able to listen to whatever tunes I want while at work is probably the best perk of all. I hope all of you survive those exams, tribulations, and lousy jobs to post here for another week. Take care Swervies.

It’s got to be Scotland everytime though because I moved up when I was 3. Maby thats why the rate of heart attacks in Scotland is so high because the national team are so fucking unpredictable.

I’m in LA at the moment with my own band “Future Kings of Spain” and after a gig in the Viper Room, some publisher bloke who likened us to had they been American and surfaced about 5 years later, THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN ALL CONQUERING!!!!
