All this international sport all at once. Yikes! Cool site Ian. Good to see the swervie squirt gun in full effect. Checking out BRMC. Lovin’ it. Checking out Idlewild. Lovin’ it. Cars Converge on Paris is really hitting me of late too. Grammys suck.

I mean, they were almost talking about things the opposite way it really happened. But where are the links between self-centred lack of melody f***ed off crap pop (and I don’t even talk about the overrating topic) and honest rock’n’roll music? It overpassses my poor and honest little brain.

Date: Tue Feb 26 01:30:11 2002 Name: Erik City/State/Country: RVA Comment: Ghost, right now we’re free agents. That clown from Beluga really screwed things up, mainly for himself. His label AND his distributor went under. I couldn’t believe how brainless he ran his operation. He paid for our recording upfront then never even bothered to see how “Volume” sold. He never gave us sales reports and never bothered getting more copies of it pressed. Now that everything has gone under, all copies of the album, if there are more of them out there, have been seized. If we get the rights and the master copy, we’ll be good to go, but this schmuck is really making it a bitch of a situation for us. We’re working on a new recording and know label in Baltimore that’s willing to put out a 7″ for us, but we really need to get the rights to our full length. FUCK THE GODDAMN MUSIC INDUSTRY!!!

Date: Tue Feb 26 00:11:49 2002 Name: Erik City/State/Country: RVA Comment: That ridculous label, Beluga, that my band was signed with, almost had us tour as an opening act for Mr. Willis. Basically, all that meant was you’d show up for the gig, play in front of an audience of people who want nothing more than to watch a sick man making a spectacle of himself, and then you would be in charge of “babysitting” Wesley. After reading Ghost’s posting it looks like we have even more reasons to be happy about not touring with Mr. Willis. -E
Date: Mon Feb 25 18:53:51 2002 Name: ghost City/State/Country: Comment: yeah Wesley Willis has Schizophrenia. He’s on Alternative Tenticles records, Jello Biafra’s label. He came to Richmond once and played at an infamous little club called Twisters which was directly across the street from a Kinko’s that my friend worked at. ANYwho Wesley went in to the Kinkos and begged them to use the bathroom, so they let him and apparently he took the most monster shit on record in RVA cause people were gagging and tearing up and then they had to prop the front door open to air the store out. Which I think reinforced the “Employees Only” restroom policy.

Date: Mon Feb 25 18:24:14 2002 Name: Dan’l City/State/Country: Chicago Comment: The faceless corporate entity I show up at everyday can’t put a sound card in my desktop, but I have a feeling I know what this Wesley Willis thing sounds like. Some guy hootin’ an’ hollerin’ over a canned Casio track, right? Well, you’ve just experienced Wesley Willis, a seminal figure of the Chicago scene for the last 10 years or so – possibly mentally challenged, definitely homeless for awhile, used to ride the el drawing cityscapes with non-toxic markers (prolly worth some $ now), generally harmless, f***in’ huge (like 6’8″ and 300#), and has a proclivity for putting his favorite things to song – first to the ones in his head, then, after settling down with job and apartment, to the mighty Casio. Wesleys’ topics have covered odes to Rock Music, politics, TV commercials, local & national celebrities, favorite breakfast cereals, el conductors & bus drivers, etc. ad nauseam. He has at least 15 self-released CDs, and if I’m not mistaken, at least one major label release. Used to be backed by a local “grunge” outfit called Water (many moons ago). Haven’t heard about him in a while. Surprised/not surprised to hear he did a tribute to SWD. Used to be you could walk up to him on the street, mention a subject, and that subject would wind up on his next release (always 20-30 tracks per CD). Oy vey… can’t believe I know this much ’bout the guy… that’s what I get for bein’ local, I guess…

Sunburst ’62 Jazzmaster re-issue, Nobel Tremelo, Rocktek(I know, but it does the job, barely) Phaser, Tokai Flanger, Boss Super-Overdrive, Boss Heavy Metal, Boss DD-3, Jim Dunlop Crybaby goin through whatever Amp I can borrow for any occasions. That’s that out the way. No tab typed today as I’ve been Recording all weekend for me debut EP. It’s all a bit acoustic-y, though there are some ‘Duress’ type tributes towards the end of one tune. Dark Star did indeed rock. I did wonder whot had happened to them, so it’s a bit depressing to find out that they split. ‘Twenty Twenty Sound’ is an amazing album. Anyone got the free Creation tape that came with Select in ’92? That was my introduction to the Swervies-The original demo of ‘Mustang Ford’. After that there was no stopping me! Feel free to disagree but I reckon it’s better than the Album version. Much more low end. Right, I’ve waffled enough. Will send the James Anderson Tunings through to Art tommorow. Take care all….

Last I heard was through a bloke I vauguely know who knows them, Bic Hayes was doing something with the pet shop boys & the Bassist had joined Sophia…..but this was all rumour. With regard to the TSL’s I’ve had no problem with mine, but I run the master volume on 10 & control levels with the individual channel volumes. The other guy in my band has a Marshall DSL 50 watt & his always seems louder, but his tone is very muddy compared to mine, but I think a lot of its in the settings/ guitar etc. If I find the unofficial darkstar website I’ll post it here.
Date: Sun Feb 24 02:39:33 2002 Name: chris City/State/Country: pittsburgh, pa Comment: My first dose of swervedriver was dealt to me by Road Rash, as well. This was back in ’94, I believe, when I got Road Rash for my super rad 3DO. I vividly remember the songs instantly hitting me, and as soon as I could make it to the record store, I found a copy of Mezcal Head that had a cracked case *and* skipped like mad, but I kept it anyways, because I knew I’d never find another copy in my shitty home town. Mezcal Head continues to be one of my favorite albums of all time, regardless of however many musical genres my interests have weaved in and out of over the years. It’s a classic. It takes me back to those 11th grade days. Ahh.

Date: Sat Feb 23 19:43:52 2002 Name: Sundog City/State/Country: Chi-Town Comment: Hey James, Back when Darkstar had their official website, they left a message saying the manager who represented them at the label left and they were stuck in limbo and then dropped. Apparently their second CD was recorded already as well. They played some of the songs on ‘Top of the Pops’ which I believe is a TV show over there or something? I have MP3’s of some of the songs they played there (including new ones). Of course, I actually preferred them in Levitation, but it seems these guys will never get a break. Hopefully we’ll get to hear some new Swervie material in the future. At the least we might get some new Toshack Highway. Dream well…SD

Date: Sat Feb 23 02:49:04 2002 Name: Fester City/State/Country: Toronto Comment: That’s funny, my best friend is a James Bell. That’s cool. Y’know, Road Rash has to be responsible for more swervies than one can count. I’ve never played it(although, I’ve always wanted too…), and I’ve never seen a swervie video. Raise, for me, was the apex of a great time for music from about 87′ – 92′. After Raise, with the exception of the other swerves, and a few other cool little bands, music hasn’t been the same since. I caught Raise a few months before Nevermind. It knocked me on my ass. I’ve read that in Seattle, before the gold rush, you couldn’t walk down the street without hearing Raise being played out a window or two. I’ve always wondered it that was completely true. Very cool to see all the set-ups. Has completely solidified something I’ve always thought – Swervedriver is a band’s band. Cheers to the weekend y’all! (Chizzy/royboy – not too much going on in T.O. right now. Everyone’s too busy watching Olympic hockey. Go Canada!)

Date: Fri Feb 22 18:24:27 2002 Name: Dave City/State/Country: St.Helens Comment: James, you are spot on with the Soundtrack meaning, for example the first time I heard “alternative music” (before I even listened to music in general) was when I loaded up Road Rash on the Sega Saturn in about 1995 and the main menu loaded up and i heard the unforgettable intro riff of Duel, I thought cool, at the time it didnt mean anything to me, but as I played the game more I found myself singing along to Duel and Last Train to Satansville. I didnt even think Swervedriver where a proper band until i saw the music video on the game, and i thought woah cool they are a real band and i went out on the search for Mezcal Head, to no avail. (soundgarden, hammerbox, paw, monster magnet and therapy where on the game also) Swervedriver and Soundgarden where the ones that stood out to me, so as soon as i got connected to the internet about 3 years later I downloaded Napster and downloaded all the tracks from Mezcal Head and Raise. And I havent stopped listening to them since, ive got other songs like bsides and all, and i also bought Raise and Mezcal head on CD too, so i felt like i had the REAL DEAL. hehe. Anyway whenever I hear duel i get taken back to when i used to play road rash on my sega saturn and sing along to the tune. What a band…….anyway im putting some tabs up on this site which are updated versions of the ones ive put up already…..Cya later –Dave

I’d just like to make a lone post about one of my favourite bands ever Swervedriver. I only own one of their records the mighty Raise which I bought by chance for a fiver second hand. I liked the cover and had read their name in some review so picked it up. I do this alot with CDs so was not expecting much. Little did I know quite how obsessed I would become with it. It became my “soundtrack” (cheesy i know) to the summer and really helped me through some wierd times. Most of my friends think its “crappy fuzz noise” compared to the clean cut Emo, Retro, (insert latest NME fad genre). Still love it to bits though. But now I can’nt for the life of me find any of their other records. Even Amazon dont stock Mezcal Head. It dont bother me though because I still have Raise. The only band I feel got close to the sound of Swervedriver were Dark Star who imploded (no pun intended) before they got going. Oh well thanks for letting me tell someone about the amazing band you all know better than me. Thanks for the music guys. Not that you’re out there… James Bell

No I don’t use the loop in my band, But I do sit there & build layers when I’m on My own. I’ve been trying to write stuff on an unplugged electric into a dictaphone. But being as everyone else has posted their rig I will. Gibson SG STd into Cry baby Wah Wah—–Boss FD-2——Marshall TSL-60 Head with the line 6 on the loop providing delay. Thinking about the expression pedal at the mo, But its one more thing on the floor. We had a mad rehersal last night, First run through was shit- We break for coffee then its storming. My favourite song of the set is the one where I’m not switching pedals on…….

I don’t have a clue what the hell you are talking about (Except for Dan, since my Bro was a drummer). Now all we need is Adam and Jez to drop some tips in here. Wouldn’t it be nice if they were too busy recording to do so? Anyone have anyword on what they are up to? Is Adam still touring in support of his latest Toshack Highway EP? Is Jez still workin’ on the live disk? Just hungry for some ‘Happy’ news in this world as opposed to the shit they sell on TV as news. Dream Well…SD

Date: Thu Feb 21 05:24:53 2002 Name: Seb City/State/Country: Midlander Comment: With regard to FX pedals, I would reccomend the Line 6 delay modeller pedal, It really does crap on everything in its price range. I’ve had one for 18 months & I’m still finding new sounds. I think the trouble with a lot of pedals is that they never seem as good as you hoped they’d be. I tried a danelectro Sitar Swarmi last week, I thought it would be a pitchshifting device. No it was a shit octavider/Phase/Fuzz with little adjustment other than level/tone…..They wanted a hundred quid for it-Jesus!

I was playing some Shred solos with it before and it was screaming hehe! Hairy Haw my set up is…..Fender Stratocaster / Fender Telecaster —-> Marshall Jackhammer Distortion / Overdrive —-> Danelectro Hash Browns Flanger —-> Dunlop Crybaby —-> Marshall G15RCD Amplifier….. I also own an ARIA AW20 Acoustic too. The flanger can give me some right crazy effects, think about the waaaaaaaaahhhh bits in Duel and the Phaser effects in 99th Dream…..Its a pretty neat pedal, and the jackhammer can give me a wide range of sounds from bluesy kinda swervie stuff to harsh overdriven old school heavy metal sounds…I am a bit confused about how Swervedriver get the sound on songs like “Never Lose That Feeling” and “Rave Down”……I would love to be able to play Never Lose That Feeling its just a classic tune. Hairy i will look forward to seeing your list of tunes u have got printed / can play / tabbed / typed up etc etc…hehe! Anyway cya all later people im off to check out Toshack Highway setup on guitar geek……cya later! —Dave

Remove the bottom, and remove the screw that holds that straight gear, now you can tweak the pot by turning it to sound a bit more screechy or muddy. There’s only a few teeth’s width of tweaking, but it can be pretty cool. I had one that when pulled all the way back w/ dist in front of and after just fuc*ing sang beatifully w/ Jazzmaster trem dumps. Cheers.

There is this guy i know called James Anderson who works at Midway Games and he said he has loads of Swervedriver tabs that he saved from Ajays old site, ive not heard from him in ages (i only know him via email) Im afraid I only got access to the internet when ajays site changed. Hairy Haw, i am really trying hard to figure out some of swervedrivers old material in standard tuning but nothing seems to be working….I find it really hard to get the swervie sound they have…Anyway could you mail me a list of all the swervedriver songs you have wrotedown / typed up / can play? I vaguely remember seeing the actual article back in the mists of time and I really wish I’d bought the damn mag. Probably too poor, I guess. Anyway, the guy who put this up on Ajay’s original site way back just cut it down to the tunings and managed to tab a fairly accurate ‘Never Lose that Feeling’too. It’s a pity, that it was cut down ‘cos I would LOVE to read that article again in it’s entirety. Cool photos too if memory serves…..

It’s just I lost the notes for donkeys then found ’em again. Fear not, though as they are gonna be up sometime in the next two weeks. the rest of the stuff that’s gone up recently was the easiest stuff to tab so I thought I’d get it out the way first. Also, I only have Mezcal Head on Vinyl (and the needle’s on me deck’s knacked!)and I LOST my CD of Raise which I’m gutted about. That’s why you’re seeing stuff off ESR and 99th Dream, rather than the early stuff. Also, I recently found a copy of an article of Adam’s alternate tunings so I’ll put it up as soon as. I found it damn hard to figure out songs in these tunings but if anyone else finds some use out of em….

Hairy Haw and Seb do you have any Mezcal Head / Raise Tabs for me? Haw, i hate to say this again and again coz i feel like a right pri*k for asking this over and over again. But you had any luck with the Deep Seat tabs? I think i might get off my arse and figure out a few swervie songs myself, but i dont think they sound quite right in standard tuning and i think my rendition of Rave down is an insult to swervedriver……its appalling, anyone agree? I shouldn’t really buy it as I don’t really have the cash to spare. What does everyone think? Should I just go for it? I’m fucking tempted. What a trip that was remeber when we asked the postwoman for directions in down town Manahatan. That whole 5 hour drive is still a blur to me. I am not sure how we made it all that way with out any sort of map (in our mental state it probably would have confused us worse). The trips we made to get the Swerve on…..Good memories. Anyone get to see the new Spin mag. They have the 50 most influncial (excuse my spelling I am kinda drunk)bands. I dont agree with their order or some of their selections but it give some good props. Date: Sat Feb 16 00:22:16 2002 Name: Brian City/State/Country: Toledo Comment: Yeah, Six By Seven is cool, but a little too much distortion in the vocals for me. Still, it’s a great listen. Did anyone ever pick up Skyscraper? Truthfully, I’ve seen Swervedriver more than a few times and can’t ever recall seeing any guitar tech. Part of the reason I like Swervedriver is because they do their own thing without any “stadium size” crew. When they came to Toledo they were playing ping pong next to me, while I was playing pool. I think that’s part of the allure. Yet, it makes waiting for their albums so much harder.
Date: Fri Feb 15 21:14:08 2002 Name: chizzy City/State/Country: in the depths of the flu Comment: howdy all…just goin’ through some old gig posters and stumbled across this show… anyone ever hear of “stingray UK” we played here in Buffalo with them a while ago then never heard from them again. The only reason I bring them up is they ripped off swervies soooooooooo bad in this one song. (I have an ep they gave me) anyway. their chorus of one song is “alcohol in the soda stream, I’ve been drinking the south street dry, I’ve been riding your coattails all this time” I’ll convert it to MP3 if anyone wants me to email it to them. The lead singer claimed to have been adam’s guitar tech, but no-one else in the band knew anything about it… any ideas?

She had bought Ejector Seat Reservation a few months ago, she copied it for herself and then offered me the original. That was the only (full) record I didn’t own on Cd (I got it on K7 for 6 years but never bought the original, too expansive). This is probably the only girl I know that appreciates Swervedriver and can fill my life with wonderful gifts of that kind. I love her soooooooo much. I love her all the time.

It’s funny actually, because everyone else that’s posted their pics looks pretty much like I imagined. Zack, Ian, Dan, Tuomas, etc. Tuomas you actually look a little different than the T-star picture I remember seeing before, but the current artsy pic does you justice as well. Zach, I was looking at some of the postings from a few weeks back. Was Tortosie the band you were trying to figure out? They seem to fit your description with the thematic packaging and the drony music. Anyway, Happy Valentines Day to everyone!! I’ve got a good question for you all. Which Swerve song best fits a Valentine theme? Just off the top of my head, I think Land of the Lost…”I can’t live without your love”… Hmmm. Maybe “Feel so Real?” I don’t know. “Love is all around” by the Troggs always seemed like a good one. “Almost Gold” or “Sugar Ray” by the JAMC, “Be my Baby” by the Ronnettes, “Don’t Talk” by the Beach Boys, “Blue” by the Pumpkins… Damn, I’m gonna stop now. I hope everyone has either “sugar to kiss or a sweetheart to miss.” If you don’t, just know that you are loved right here in the Swerve family. Love, Erik

I forgot all about Swervedriver being label-less at the time. With the response they received that night, I’m sure any label would have jumped right to the chance to sign them. Man, what a night. So the Kikster is a lawyer? No wonder you always had so much studying going on. Just make sure you always leave yourself time for surf, swerve, and wine… -E

Erik, nice pics. Are you familiar with a NYC band called The Brought Low? They’re stylistically similar to DSS and, judging from the pics, have as rockin’ a stage presence. They toured in late December and January. Just thought I’d mention them if you haven’t already checked them out. Art

As usual you guys have me breaking out the CD’s. ๐ It’s going to have to be ‘Honey’s Dead’ by JMC and I have to hear ‘Crater Scar’ by Main now. Then I’ll follow it up with some Scenic. Speaking of sort of that ‘wide open spaces’ sound anyone here ever listen to the first disk by ‘A small good thing’? It’s excellent. I believe it’s the O’Yuki Conjugate recording under a different name. Or what about the first O’Rang disk? Of course that leads me to the song ‘Night Again’ by Steve Tibbets. LOL, I think I need to throw this post up at the drone on list, not the SWD site. Maybe Adam will make us a droney disk under either the SWD name or the TH name. More stuff like the end of ‘Never Lose That Feeling/Never Learn’ and ‘Homeless Homecoming’. A disk with loud distorted instrumentals interspersed with songs performed as on the TH EP,’Everyday Rock And Roll Is Saving My Life’. Man, I’m really needing some new SWD! How about you guys? ๐ Dream Well Swervies, I am! SD

Really, really great guys. Made ya feel proud to be a fan. For the record, even the roadie is huge. And Hum? They looked like school children hanging out in the teacher’s lounge. Yikes!

Yeah! another fabbo concert going back some 14 years was JMC at the Enmore theatre when I was a wee munchkin. I cant recall whether it was for psychocandy or automatic but anyways the boys sat on stage creating an awesome wall of noise that flooded over us all. Oh how I miss JMC too!

I wish I’d had my MD recorder back then, cause they played some shit I’ve never heard before or since…they were all very cool guys and very approachable. (needless to say, it might as well have been paul goddamn McCartney, I was so stoked.) They even showed up at “Mighty Taco” while we were eating there before the show, and Adam asked the other guitarist from our band if they could sample our farfisa…(by then we were too stoned to remember this once we got back to the club…) Anyway that was my brush with them, overall a great experience to say the least… *sniff, sniff… come back, guys!

There were themes to the albums…one was deserts and the other was seas. The discs’ cases were cardboard, one being sand colored and one blue (like one of the June of 44 albums was cardboard). The songs were long droning instrumental rock, if I remember correctly. I think Sonora may have been one of the song titles in the desert themed disc. thanks, Z.

Date: Thu Feb 7 04:51:17 2002 Name: Bertrand City/State/Country: Liรจge\Belgium Comment: This is hard to read all these posts. I have never had the chance to see SWD live. I discovered them in 1996 (I was 14 years old), and I don’t think they came here since that date. And, this is not really easy to go see them in France, or in the Netherlands, or in Germany. The only recent time Adam passed in the Netherlands, I was in the exams period (at university, so, don’t even imagine to get a one day trip). I’m sure you can imagine how ‘painful’ it is for me. My girlfiend would also appreciate a lot to see them performing Duress (which she never stops listening to). That’s one of the finalities of my life, I guess. You know, SWD converges the closest to my own personnality. And Raise is the way I think, I am, I dream, etc… Seeing them would be like a present of God (even if I never believed he is).

If this site were to ever go down, I would seriously feel as if I had lost a lot of good friends. Ghost, I saw that you signed the Dragstrip guestbook!! That was very surprising to see someone from here on our site. Thanks very much for dropping by. Favorite Swerve show, hmmmm… I saw the band 5 times and Adam’s solo thing once. All of those shows were magical so it’s very hard to decide. In 1993 I saw them in Norfolk, Va. with the Pumpkins. The fuzzed out wash of Adam’s wah in “Rave Down” still makes me sway. I was sick with mononucleosis but felt no sickness while they played. In 1997, I saw them in NYC with the Poster Children. “Mars” was other-worldly and the yet to be released “Wrong Treats” and “99th Dream” sent me sailin’. We drank until sunrise walking the streets of Manhattan. In early ’98 they played with Hum in Philadelphia. They opened with “It’s All Happening Now”, Jez threw a drumstick at a roadie, and the band blew Hum away. In mid ’98 they played a show at the Black Cat in DC. I never heard such flawless live music nor I have ever seen an audience so transfixed by a band. The music became something tangible and permanent that evening, like it never had before. In late ’98 they played at a tiny college in Fredericksburg, Va. to a bunch of Samiam fans. It was the most intimate setting in which I’d ever seen them. It’s kind of sad to think that’s the last time I did see them. In June of 2001, I was one of the lucky few to see Adam perform. Once again, we were captivated with the music and I got to meet Adam personally. I like to think of him and the rest of the band as friends now, because whether they realize it or not, we’ve all been through so many amazing times together. -Erik

It was an in-store appearance and there was no stage or riser. Hence the band was standing on the same level as the crowd, which was no less than two feet away from them.

Date: Wed Feb 6 16:03:37 2002 Name: Sundog City/State/Country: Chi-Town Comment: I have only had an opportunity to see SWD twice (I tried to see them when they opened for the Pumpkins on the Mezcal Head tour, but I didn’t hear about the concert until the day the tickets went on sale. Since that was for the Pumpkins Siamese Dream Tour, there wasn’t anyway you were getting tickets unless you bought them as soon as they went on sale. One of my friends did buy me the long sleeve T-Shirt with ‘Jesus loves the Swervies’ on the back of it though. It’s still one of my favorite shirts! ๐ Anyway, I saw them on their Raise tour here, right after their first drummer left the band and it was memorable because of Adi living the stage to go get another beer and then pushing right past us to get back on stage. The place (The Metro) wasn’t packed, but it was full and it felt more like a party that SWD was playing ๐ I remember them playing some great covers, I don’t remember what they were (I want to say a Velvet Underground track) but that was long ago and I’m old..lol. I also saw them at the Metro for the 99th dream tour. The mic wasn’t working when they hit the stage, so we got the instrumental version of ‘Behind The Scenes Of The Sounds & The Times’. Duress totally captivated the audience (and the bouncers). I guess both of my SWD concerts have been memorable for different reasons. Dream well Swervies…SD

Imagine standing eye-level, two feet away from Adam, Jimmy and all of those pedals and watching that crazy foot action! Jez was the more “awake” of the bunch. I got I.D.ed and nearly never got in but one of my mates stuck up for me and when they saw the look of terror/dissapointment/indescribable woe on my face the kind gentleman let me in. I had’nt heard Mezcal Head at the time as I think they played before it was released but me and my wee brother (who got in no bother !?!) sat up the back of with about 10 other mates on mushies and it was a life changing experience I can tell you!!! My rib cage rattled to Duress which they played as an encore and I seem to remember Last Train to Satansville going on for about 15 minits. Still dont know to this day how Adam gets his tremolo chuka, chuka, chukas to go in time with the drums. One of lifes great mysteries I guess. Anyway it was the best gig I’ve ever seen. Kill Superheroes was amazing (especially when they stopped near the end, and then Jez yelled out the 2,3,4 thing to cue it up again). Adam even did a Townsend jump during Satansville. Too cool. City/State/Country: jersey… Comment: hmmm… best swervie show… mine would have to be on that tour with the pumpkins too. i was about 16. it was my first time seeing them and i’d never even heard them before. i had no idea what they were playing, but the entire set was absolutley dizzying and amazing… duress really stuck out. they played it for about 20 minutes and the whole room was a giant wall of noise and guitars and ride cybals and it is still the this day the great song i have ever seen anyone perform live… i went out and bought both raise and mezcal head the next day. the pumpkins and shudder to think were pretty good too.

Besides from the fact that I got my nose broken during the opening song, it rocked!

Do you remember the Hipslingers (one of my fave nukes bands)? + You’re right about Civic Theatre – it;s a great venue, I love those velvet furniture type venues …mmmm… and yes, Nukes’ “dark side” is to blame for my every wear black wardrobe people mistakenly consider a goth thingy. Well, maybe there was a touch of that when I was 12 – I blame all that rain and that “there’s just no place to go” …. yes the town where I was born….. PS it’s great to put a face to y’all – its been… er.. enlightening:-) PPS great spread of pedals Dan. rocking!

Yeah kik, me and newcs have a bit of a soul tie in that I’m trying to have some sort of architectural input on its environments (gaud knows it needs it!) and apart from that, loved ones, little one and rockin-feakin-roll keep me here damn it! Oh yeah.. Tea Party play here on the 13th of tha month in of all places- the Civic Theatre (which as kik may probably vouch for is a classically restored tiered theatre complete with balcony and gothic undertones-YEA. Now I think about it a good venue for SWD (bit bigger than Cambridge Hotel) Just on the faces thingo – Curve site offers people to submit photo portraits but has inhouse artist post interpretations of the sender… leading us where you dare! bye

For some good Swerve-ish tunes, you all should check out Duel on mp3.com. I think Paolo may have originally mentioned them here some time back. The more I listen, the more I like. Thank God for music at work. I’m feeling envious that I may be the only guy here not in a band. I’ll just have to live vicariously through your all of your stories here. If anyone is ever playing in LA, let me know. cheers, -Z-

New Order was soooo gooood, makes you realise just why they’re one of my lifelong faves. I’m going stop posting my own picture links now. I’ve met Ghost in person. I think Tuomas is the only Swervie from the board whose picture I’ve seen. Kik, do you look like the tanned, blonde surfer girl that I imagine you to be? Dave, Ian, and Hairy Haw I picture to be thin, clean-cut brits. Art, I picture you as being Asian for some reason. Anyway, I hope to see you all in person some day. Hope you all had good weekends. -E

Date: Fri Feb 1 02:13:31 2002 Name: kik City/State/Country: Comment: thanks guys for the woo-hoos…Art I can’t do the link thingy either..Ghost my advice on first dates with goth chicks (wehther they have a boyfriend or not) is to give them a Wham T-shirt with “GO GO” on it or something similarly unhip. the problem with goths [er … having been there and done that] is that they spend waay to much time trying to look cool that they miss the point entirely.
