Hello. I am new here and have a question concerning the set up of a Gibson Les Paul. I have 4 of them and I just can’t get the setup to my satifaction. Each of the 4 seem to be alittle differnt as far as the number of turns on the bridge thumbscrews. One I have is a 58 reissue goldtop and to keep the E,A,&D from buzzing I have those thumb screws cranked out pretty far. I don’t like the way that looks. Is that the way it is suppose to be? If so then why did Gibson make it that way? The stop bar also has threaded post Is this suppose to be used as some sort of adjustment also? I got the intonation part but why must I have those thumb screws turned out so much. I have had Les Pauls in the past that these were barily turned out. Can someone give me the lowdown? Thank you.
