Sonic Cathedral opens for worship this Friday (April 24) at the beautiful St Giles-In-The-Fields Church in central London. The wonderful Neil Halstead is headlining and will be playing songs from his two solo albums as well as classics from his bands Mojave 3 and Slowdive. Yes, really. Neil Halstead playing Slowdive songs in a church, does it get any better? (The answer is no, by the way.) There will also be a solo set from Gravenhurst, aka Nick Talbot, who we’ve been trying to get down to the Cathedral for several years now. Opening the proceedings will be the mysterious psych-folker Holton’s Opulent Oog.
Please note that this is an early show, so arrive in good time to get a pew. Doors open at 7pm and there will be a wine stall, but try not to spill any on the carpet.
