VAST AMOUNTS OF NEW ‘UNEARTHED’ AUSSIE BANDS

They are from all round our country and are in a national competition hosted by the national ‘alternative’ radio station JJJ. Swervedriver have recorded sessions with this station. Anyway there are some v.cool raw talent out there and this comp is a great insight as to all the stuff festering under the surface. I draw particular attention to the following:

1. Newcastle bands – (my home town) +known for grit, balls out heavy rock / metal as well as other mixed bag stuff (no pun intended) []eg IN THE HEADSET (‘Vagabond’) + FORESHADOWED(any song – sounds like the Cult of old)

2. My mate’s band – CJ AMORE (‘Take It Easy’) from Western Australia (he introduced me to Swervedriver)

3. Other bands of Snail’s recommeded listening = BIG CATS (any song) and YOUNG AND RESTLESS (‘satan’)

4. Diverse styles.The site gives you some background to the bands and lets you rate the tracks as well as do your own reviews.

5. This is a competition and a winner will be decided. There is an overall chart and sub-category chart.
