bleebleParticipantWanted to chip in my love for the new Queens of the Stone Age album. I know it’s not Officially out yet, but its all over the internet and killer from beginning to end. It’s still on the edge of being METAL, but man, can these guys capture a mood on vinyl.

and obviously – Toshack Highway (esp. Magnetic Morning)thanks. Like Doves. Saw them prior to Lost Souls. Shook my soul. BRMC are ok. kinda let down by last album. Not a swirlies fan. Tried a long time ago. They still playing? Saw Spoon with SWD prolly 97? Didnt impress but will listen again. Have all Toshack. Will look into the rest! thanks again!

bleebleParticipanthi. I started this thread a LONG time ago and am finally coming back to thank everyone for the discussion of good bands swervedriver fans would dig. I’ve been busy relocating from Philadelphia to Cincinnati (definitely a step in the wrong direction) and moving on to phase 2 of my life (I’m 32 today and looking at engagement rings!) so rock and roll and discusions of such has taken a temporary backseat. Back to rock and roll:
I downloaded a bunch of interpol (have bought some since), some Lupine howl (very cool) and 50 ft monster, but didnt dig it. Was a big Catherine Wheel fan from Ferment and a little bit of Chrome but it was all downhill from there for me.
Lately, I’ve been rocking out regularly to Explosions in the Air (frighteningly good instrumental band from Austin TX), lots of Flaming lips who are aging so gracefully, and new Modest Mouse is so addictive. Just picked up new Bob Pollard and like it, but it’s typical hit and miss. Final GBV studio album and tour this summer/fall!!
Also..they are not a secret by any means but Soundtrack of Our Lives put together solid albums beginning to end and I think they could be one of my favorite bands of the last couple of years. Also…while I’m brainstorming for music you may like…My Morning Jacket holds my attention big time. If you haven’t heard them, they are on the fringe of being labeled a “jam band” and definitely have a twang in their music at times, but their sound is so honest they give me chills at times. Definitely worth downloading a few tunes and see if it’s your taste.
Again..thanks for the responses. Still searching for bands mentioned earlier like : Seething Grey, Charlene and Oceansize (website linked is down). If anyone keeps these or other goodies on a website…please let me know!
Now oyu can get back to what it is you were discussing…darts? bad acne? How about baseball!
