Since Mike so graciously sent me a copy of the show, I’d be happy to pay it forward. Link below. (I will try to leave it up as long as I can; if it’s down, reply again and I’ll repost…)

Hey Matt, did you get my email??

Thanks, Mike – I had been checking my inbox the last few days but hadn’t seen anything. Looked again just now though, and it’s there, lo and behold… Maybe it took a while to receive because of the filesize and/or yahoo sucks? Much obliged!

Thanks for the track times, James; finally got around to updating the article.

Don’t know how long the KEXP session version is gonna hold me over…

Anyone have the track durations so I can add it to my most recent Wiki update? Waiting for the digital release myself…

    Thanks.

Wow! Wonderful responses and what bigger compliment than straight from the horse’s mouth! Very humbled and thanks, Adi – I will get to work on those corrections shortly. I have to say, Never Lose That Feeling is still my favorite release by the band (fantastic songwriting and it’s brevity just leaves you wanting more) so I just had to include an audio sample, and knowing that extra track info is great.

I thought that was a rather interesting anecdote about British Leyland (from Adam’s liner notes on Raise) and wanted to share it. If some clarification comes regarding which tracks were actually on the first demo and “Over”‘s origin, I will add that, too. I really have to give credit to the .com and .net sites for having 20+ year-old press releases (some of them just newspaper scans) and comprehensive news archives for providing a ton of info, as well as stumbling upon an online archive of an incredibly in-depth interview Adam did with Tape Op, otherwise the article wouldn’t be nearly as thorough.

Another thought: I noticed 99th Dream was a contentious subject on the forum so I felt it apt to include the variety of reviews of it that I came accross. Granted I am a Swervie, but I was nonetheless pretty shocked to read NME’s review and feel it’s unbelievablely harsh. I just found it enough of a thought provoking statement to mention here.

It’ll be going on 2 decades for me soon, too, and I was more than happy to do it. (I actually first heard the band on the Road Rash video game in ’94/’95, so I felt the need to include that in the article, too!) Additionally, I appreciate everyone’s sentiment; this project has been a welcomed distraction for me over the last month or so as my family and I are still adjusting to this major life event.

    Cheers!
    Matt

Incredible! That was my first Swervedriver show, too. I remember being mesmerized when Franklin started the opening riff to “Duress”. Thanks, as well!
