I feel ya kingtubby – but I’ll take it. I still think of the 2008 show at the Metro as my favorite show so it’ll be hard not to compare it to that. But it’s the night of my 35th birthday and hopefully it’ll be a beautiful Chicago night.
It might be a good opportunity for them to pick up some new fans too. My best bud’s younger brother in law became a big fan the night of the 2008 show so he’s geeked to see them again too and I’m gonna drag everybody I can down there to celebrate my birthday with me. If you see a big guy with a beard and glasses with a huge smile on his face somewhere close to the stage – that’ll be me. Come say hi! Ha!

I guess it sounds ok. It’s kinda hard to concentrate on the music when a room full of hipster douchebags won’t shut up.

I’m at the point where I don’t go to many shows anymore and this is about 75% of the reason why. Why pay to go if you’re going to yap the entire time? I don’t understand it at all. Chicago audiences are brutal when it comes to this. My last show was Swervedriver in Chicago in 2008 and right now I’m ok with it. In the last 10 years it’s the only show I’ve been to where the crowd was more interested in hearing the band than talking to everyone else about what other shows they’ve been to lately (and probably talked through).

Man – sorry to hijack like that bradsears, it sounds great for the most part.

Saw them open for what at the time was my favorite band, the Smashing pumpkins at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago in 1993.

17 years later, Swervedriver is still my favorite band, and I can hardly stand to hear Billy Corgan’s voice.

Swervedriver slayed that night. Chicago loves us some Swervedriver.

    Hair Metal.

    It’s so over the top.
    The Cheeseball lyrics.
    The decadence.

Plus – before the interwebz, that’s all my 12 year old self could get a hold of – so it’s more of a nostalgia thing.

It’s a fun little read. Some of Jez’s stories had me giggling like Beavis & Butthead.

‘Penises’ Hartridge had me in stitches.
