Jez here. Just to say thanks to James G for sending those dvds over. Gaz was very happy to get his, and I posted Steve’s off to him this morning. Good to see that 120 minutes recording – I’m sure Gaz will be interested to see it too…for the first time…On the basis that he was sent back to the hotel “in disgrace” before the recording, for being abusive to the TV people & throwing a carton of orange juice, with Jackson Pollack-like results. Something to do with my rental kit being the wrong colour I seem to remember :) I mentioned this to him a couple of evenings ago. Oh, how we laughed!

Leave that Brad Steward guy alone! Not only did he shoot the Duel snowboard video (which including filming whilst snowboarding backwards down Mount Hood), he also taught us to snowboard in a very short space of time, arranged a lot of our Mt. Hood trip (including getting “SWERVEDRIVER” written on all the ski passes issued on Mt Hood one day (now THAT is a collectors item!), pretty much invented the sport of snowboarding – I could go on…. – and is to this day one of the finest people I have had the honour to spend time with. There are some stories between us :)
I’m very happy. Dropped in to see what’s going on – and “BRAD STEWARD” (“heh heh”) is posting! If you see this Brad – the devil is still sitting there. Hope all is well friend. jez x

This is interesting stuff (and pretty useful for me too). So thanks… I’ve done a piece for Glamorama’s next issue (out start Sept. I’m told) – it focusses on the drum side of things – but Inonedream has asked for another piece and, since it seems like the “all in one room recording” process is something a number of people would like a different angle on, I’m going to have a stab at ranting about that. OK? BTW – Interloper – I’ll take an 1176LN with all the buttons pushed in at the same time thanks! x

Jez here. I’ve just finished a first draft of another piece for the Glamorama site. If Inonedream is into it, I guess it’ll be up in a few days. Cheers. x

Did you actually part with any money for your copy Dan J? Methinks not – which is just about right for a tightwad reject Martin Carr identikit…To cash in on my beer offer, pal, I’m afraid “purchase IS necessary”. Now get back to work and stop wingeing! jxx
Last time I saw Steve, Rocket, he was living contentedly in a beautiful part of semi-rural England with his lovely wife Christine. I tried to get him to play bass on some recording I was doing, but he eventually declined. He did jam with the guy I was recording though – still the best bass player I know of…
Jim I haven’t seen for a few years. One or two emails is about it. According to my best friend (and former SWD roadie extraordinaire) Gaz, he was recently in touch to arrange tickets to go see Ash with his boys. Gaz no longer roadies with Ash, so put Jim in touch with someone who does – Adi Vines, Swervie bass player of old – who sorted him out. Gaz, by the way is currently drum tech. for The Darkness (which he’s really enjoying). Jim did a degree and now works for a record label near Brighton, I believe.
What was the other thing – oh yeah, b-side box set. I think it’s a great idea – but you’d have to speak to whoever takes all the money for things like “Swerviestock” about that. No longer my concern… I did hear that someone had been talking to a label (based in Detroit I think) about them re-issuing the SWD back catalogue or something. Seemed like getting rights back from A&M, Creation, Sony etc. was the hard part… Hope that helps Rocket. jxx
