Comment: New or reissues… Smooth royboy, smooth. Obviously, you knew what I meant…Has the whole EH line been reissued? They had some really ace pedals. Ever hear of the “Hot Foot”? It was a treadle type pedal that had a flexible shaft inserted where the pot would be in a wah, and you could connect it to a pot on another pedal–expression pedal style..Real sweet for back in the day.

Comment: I haven’t been able to find ESR at any stores. I’m not sure if it’s out of print though. I bought it when it came out, and also have it on vinyl, but that rarely gets played (the vinyl–my turnable is tempermental). The cd is just about on it’s last legs, and I’m hoping desperately to hear back from swervie-stock. Good luck…I too favor this to a forum–much, much easier to see what’s going on. Dave–turbo rat distortion is sweet, and I’m tellin you–check out the Line 6 delay–you won’t regret it man!!!

Comment: Dave– Man, that’s a tough one. Seeing as how you’ve already got two fine guitars, and 600 pounds is equal to $900.91 ( I just checked it out –Damn!), I would recommend more pedals. Line 6 makes a very fine delay unit that goes for $300 . Chizzy’s got one and it’s a sweet, sweet toy. Another distortion would be cool too — so you can put one before and one after yer wah. Great for duress type pukey wah sounds…

Zach…Good days they were, music should hopefully revert back to a Rennaisance, it happens every 12 to 15 years, usually with a Republican in office, usually during a war and/or recession (ROCK-N-ROLL (1954) Korea……”HIPPIE MUSIC” (1967), recession, Vietnam…..PUNK ROCK (early 80s), gas crunch, recession, Republican in office…..GOOD GUITAR MUSIC (1991), Republican in office, Gulf War, recession. Hopefully by the next wave of good music, I wont be too old to understand it…although I highly doubt that!!!

Comment: Hello, Swervies! Just wanted to say, yes the Doves rock. Also, just got turned on to an old band on Caroline called the Drop Nineteens. They are most assuredly broken up, but their album that came out in the early 90’s is a dream-pop, shoegaze secret weapon. If you can find it, you will love it. It has a Madonna cover on it that is brilliant in its deconstruction. The noise-pop band I play in, Schatzi, will rock the Fireside Bowl in Chicago on Sat, June 22nd. Any Chicago Swervies should come out and direct me on stuff to do in Chicago as we will have 2 days off there. Never lose that feeling. Werd.

Let us know as soon as the book is published 🙂 As for the B/S with the live CD, could everyone at this board be considered possible ‘reviewers’ of the live recording without infringing on any rights? We would pay for ‘shipping’ 😉 Soooooooo close and still so far. Someone mentioned the Boo Radleys earlier. I can’t say I was big fan of their catalog (catalogue to some :p) but I really like Giant Steps. As for Swervie ‘never’ getting the popularity they deserved, it’s really simple. The MTV/Rock Radio Hype Machine wants ‘Rock ACTS’ not ‘Good Rock Music’. Swervedriver’s “problem” was they just wrote damn good rock music. “Quality” tends to be low on the list of the music industry. Afterall, the Music Industry, like most things, is about making MONEY, not music. I’m not saying that a company that publishes music should not expect a return on its investment, but there are ways to support good music without having to invest alot of money, especially considering the state of today’s technology. HHmmm, the Swervedriver.com publishing site. Pay a subscription fee, download new music or just use the subscription fee to pay for a quarterly CD of new music from bands that could be burned by one of those online CD companies. Art, what are you doing in your spare time? Adam, Jez, do you guys ‘owe’ the label any new music rights? Couldn’t you just copyright it yourselves? 🙂 OK, what is everyone at this board willing to ante up for new SWD music?…Like I said before, Dream Well Swervies…

Comment: ZigZag – I’m in Tumans occasionally (for those outside Chi, their window has “ALCOHOL ABUSE CENTER” painted on it). The Hideout bums me out – I’ve been in there once, not very comfortable, and all I ever see parked outside are SUVs, Beemers and the like. Makes sense though, given the lack of E-Z public trans around it. I should hold my tongue, as the band I play with might very well be soliciting a show there soon. Try the Hungry Brain, on Belmont ‘tween Oakley and Western. Decent selection/prices/jukebox, lots of places to sit, friends own it, freaky free jazz Sunday nights. Erik – can you get any nice medical nitrous oxide?

My new house is sweet, my band is steady rocking, my job is, well, interesting to say the least, (I deliver liquid nitrogen, quite a change from the library). But anyway things are good. The other day, Dragstrip Syndicate opened for Molly Hatchet!! That was hilarious!! Definitely one of the most enjoyable gigs we’ve ever played.
